Form & Verdict

Clear second to a dual subsequent winner on chasing debut at Worcester (2m7f, soft) in May and returned from break with creditable third in much stronger race than this at Chepstow (2m7f, soft) in October; needs to put a duff effort in November behind him but remains very much of interest.

Won over hurdles a year ago and placed a few times over fences this season, latterly behind one on top of his game at Plumpton (3m1f, soft); this trip probably suits better and in the mix with cheekpices fitted.

Won over hurdles a year ago and has made the frame in three of four chases this season, most recently when third at Southwell (3m, good to soft) last month; 2lb lower here and features prominently in calculations.

Perth 3m winner last March; switched to chasing for last three outings, with two good placings before heavy ground may well have been against him last time; each-way candidate back on the forecast better ground.

Form & Verdict

Left Dan Skelton after some disappointing hurdle/chase runs last spring but outran 33-1 odds when keeping on well for third in Ludlow chase (2m4f, soft; first-time hood) for new stable four weeks ago; still unexposed over this sort of trip; can pose a potent threat if that recent outing has brought him on.

Irish maiden point winner who also scored on bumper debut for Dan Skelton; went right off the boil for that yard but staged a major revival when third of ten in handicap at Ludlow (2m4f, soft; her second chase, hooded first time) last month on first run for this trainer; needs to build on that run and to jump more fluently but it was a promising effort.

Form & Verdict

3-6 since switching to current stable last summer, the latest win gained over C&D (good to soft) six weeks ago; might still be on the upgrade but needs to prove he can handle slow ground.

Unproven on soft/heavy; has form figures of 11234112 (hurdles/fences) for current yard, clear second at Southwell (2m4f) returned to chasing most recently; hit with another rise in the weights but Alex Chadwick takes off 7lb; in the mix.

Back and forth between codes since winning handicap hurdle debut for yard in July; made it 2-2 over fences at Fakenham in November (2m5f) then followed up over hurdles here (2m4f, again good to soft) 16 days ago; likeable type who finds plenty in the closing stages; good claims up further 5lb.

Form & Verdict

Free-goer who was prominent throughout when making the frame in his first two chases (both 2m1f, soft) and might not have been suited by the switch to more patient tactics when below that form over 2m3f a fortnight ago; swaps cheekpieces for first-time blinkers here; has stamina to prove but could take come catching around this tight track.

Jumped well and easily made all in first-time visor over C&D (heavy) last month; 6l second under a penalty at Sedgefield eight days later and he's a further 4lb higher today, but over half of the fences were omitted last time which may not have played to his strengths; retains potential.

Form & Verdict

Dual chase winner (once here) at about 2m on good ground in June and seemed to have emerged from a spell in the doldrums when second (albeit well held) to revitalised rival over hurdles here (2m, soft) a fortnight ago; not sure to build on that recent effort today and yet to convince stamina-wise over this sort of trip but remains on a good mark.

Inconsistent in recent years but won two chases on good ground in early part of this season and ran big race from the front when clear second at Fakenham (2m, soft) 11 days ago; no surprise if he gives this a good shot.

Made all for a C&D win last June (good) when 4lb lower; similar tactics were employed when he backed that up with a Stratford win (2m1f, good) next time; handicapper has had his measure since but he returned to better form when second over hurdles here (2m, soft) latest; player.

Verdict

My Gift To You has done well since joining James Owen and was a C&D winner on his latest appearance but he might be vulnerable on today’s slower ground. PUDDLESINTHEPARK needs to bounce back from a poor performance in November but he ran well behind bang-in-form rivals in his first two chases and can be very dangerous off his current mark if back on song. Take Centre Stage might make a bold bid from the front in new headgear and is second choice, while Fancy Stuff made a very encouraging stable debut last month.[Chris Wilson]
