Form & Verdict

Useful hurdler; returned to form at Stratford (2m1f, good) on chase debut this month, back from a break; back up 6lb and he's struggled off marks this high over hurdles but there's reason to believe there's more to come in this discipline; more of a concern is the heavy ground, with all wins on no worse than good to soft.

Out of form over hurdles in the spring but, following a break, he kept on strongly for clearcut win on chasing debut at Stratford (2m1f, good) last month; must be considered after that performance.

Form & Verdict

Progressive hurdler last season, last seen finishing runner-up over this trip (stays further) on soft ground at Taunton in February; likely sort to improve for the switch to fences and he won his French bumper on heavy; likely to have a big say on chase debut.

Not sure what happened two runs back but he's won his other two races this season and it was fairly straightforward over 2m3f here last time (soft); only 4lb higher, won't mind dropping back in trip and he won his French bumper on heavy.

Has very mixed record during seven-race hurdling career and needs to bounce back from a poor run in November, but looked in very good nick when winning on seasonal debut at Wincanton (1m7f, good) in October and should be fine on today's slower ground.

Form & Verdict

1-4 over hurdles, with that win coming on heavy; encouraging start to chase career when 1l second at Hexham (1m7f, good) in May, travelling strongly in the lead before failing to quite see it out; had wind surgery since and remains with potential; respected if ready to roll back from a break with tongue-tie added.

Form & Verdict

Hurdle winner who didn't really take to fences in three attempts last season and his return to hurdles in March was rather underwhelming; handles testing ground but goes back over fences with something to prove.

Returned to form and justified strong market support when winning higher-grade race from out of the weights at Chepstow (2m7f, good to soft) on Friday; escapes a penalty and is effectively 5lb lower here; has very obvious chance to double up.

5lb out of the weights but Gearoid Harney claims 6lb; however, didn't take to chasing last season (three attempts) and was comfortably held on his return to hurdles in March (cheekpieces back on); has too much to prove.

Has not really taken to chasing this season (three attempts) and was well beaten over hurdles on penultimate start; on dangerous mark now but comes here with a lot to prove; blinkered last time; cheekpieces back on today.

Verdict

Moveit Like Minnie made a successful start over fences this month but that was on good ground and with heavy ground a worry, the selection is INCA DE LAFAYETTE who was of similar ability over hurdles, handles testing going and looks the type to improve for the switch to fences. Heavy-ground hurdle winner Home Free (second choice) is another to consider. [Tim Mitchell]
