Matchbook’s welcome offer in Ireland is 0% commission on all sports for your first 110 days, with the bonus code COMMFREE110. Matchbook is a betting exchange, so you back and lay prices set by other punters, and the offer lets you keep every cent of your net winnings while it lasts, instead of paying Matchbook’s usual cut.

Matchbook Sign-Up Offer Explained

Matchbook’s sign-up offer sets your commission rate to 0% for 110 days from the day you register. Commission is the fee an exchange takes from your net winnings on a market, and it is how an exchange earns money instead of building a margin into its odds. With the offer active, a winning €100 back bet at 3.00 pays the full €200 profit.

The 0% rate covers bets on every sport placed through the Matchbook Exchange or Matchbook Zero interface, and your stake can only be risked on the exchange, not against your own account. Enhanced Specials markets are excluded. The offer carries no free bets and no qualifying bet, but you do need to make a deposit after registering. The promotion runs until 23:59 GMT on 31 December 2026.

How Commission Works After the 110 Days

Once the 110 days are up, your account moves to Matchbook’s standard commission, which Matchbook puts at “usually 2%” on winning bets. Matchbook’s rules set it at 2% of your net winnings on each market for customers in Ireland and the UK, against 4% in other countries, and you pay nothing on a market you lose. Multiples carry no commission at all. In Ireland, every exchange also pays the State a duty of 25% on the commission it charges, which comes out of Matchbook’s cut rather than your winnings.

Your net winnings on a marketCommission at 2%Commission during the offer
€50€1.00€0
€200€4.00€0
€500€10.00€0

The 110 days start at registration, not at your first bet, so open your account when you are ready to bet regularly.

How to Claim the Matchbook Welcome Offer

Where We’d Use the Matchbook Sign-Up Offer This Month

November has the kind of fixtures where exchange prices and 0% commission are worth most. Liverpool host Arsenal on Sunday 1 November, and Arsenal host Manchester City on Sunday 29 November. Manchester City play RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday 4 November, and Punchestown stages its two days of Grade 1 jumps racing on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November.

EventDateHow we’d use 0% commission
Liverpool v Arsenal, Premier LeagueSunday 1 November, 16:30Back the result at exchange prices, or lay the draw if you expect an open game
RB Leipzig v Manchester City, Champions LeagueWednesday 4 November, 20:00Back before kick-off and trade out in-play once the price moves your way
Punchestown Grade 1 weekendSaturday 21 and Sunday 22 NovemberBack at exchange prices in the win market, or lay a short-priced favourite you think is vulnerable
Arsenal v Manchester City, Premier LeagueSunday 29 November, 16:30Lay the favourite, which wins if the match is drawn or the other side wins, and compare the lay price with a bookmaker’s double chance price

Is There a Matchbook Promo Code?

Yes: enter the bonus code COMMFREE110 when you register to get 0% commission for 110 days, or REBATE20 if you’d rather take the 20% rebate welcome offer.

Matchbook Deposit and Withdrawal Methods

Matchbook takes deposits by Visa and Mastercard debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Skrill and Neteller, with a €10 minimum. Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, oldest deposit first, and Matchbook says it processes them within 12 hours. You must verify your account before your first withdrawal, and credit cards can’t be used, because GRAI-licensed operators are banned from accepting them.

There are no standard deposit or withdrawal fees, but Matchbook can charge a processing fee when deposits and withdrawals aren’t matched by enough betting, so don’t use the account to park money. For quicker payouts elsewhere, see our fast withdrawal betting sites.

Matchbook vs Other Bookmakers

Matchbook’s welcome offer works differently from a bookmaker’s: it saves you money on every winning bet for 110 days instead of paying free bets once. Here is how it compares with four GRAI-licensed bookmakers:

Who Is Matchbook Best For?

Matchbook suits punters who care about price more than promotions. If you bet singles on football or racing, the exchange’s prices beat the bookmakers’ on most selections even after commission, and the 0% window makes the first 110 days cheaper still. It also suits anyone who wants to lay a selection to lose, trade a position in-play, and an exchange has less reason to limit winning customers, because it earns its commission whichever side of a bet wins.

It is a weaker fit for casual punters who want free bets, acca boosts and price boosts. Matchbook has no welcome free bets on this offer, and its regular promotions are rebates on losses rather than boosts. On smaller markets, the price you see may only be available for a small stake, so check the amount available before you bet.

Matchbook Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Exchange prices beat or matched bet365, Paddy Power and BoyleSports on every selection we sampled, even after a 2% commission.
  • 0% commission on all sports for 110 days, with no qualifying bet and no free-bet strings attached.
  • You can lay as well as back, and trade positions in-play.
  • Licensed in Ireland by the GRAI as both a bookmaker and a betting intermediary.
  • The Betdaq takeover in October 2026 adds Betdaq’s customers to Matchbook’s pool of money.
  • Monthly rebates of 10% of net losses on multiples and on bet builders.

Cons

  • No free bets on the welcome offer, and the 110-day clock starts at registration.
  • Standard commission, usually 2%, applies once the offer ends.
  • On smaller leagues and minor races, less money may be available at the displayed price, so a large stake may not be matched in full.
  • No early payouts, acca boosts or price boosts of the kind bookmakers offer.
  • Skrill, Neteller and Paysafecard first deposits don’t qualify for the offer.

Sports You Can Bet On at Matchbook

Matchbook’s exchange covers more than 20 sports. The deepest markets are in football and horse racing:

  • Football: the Premier League, the Champions League and Europe’s top leagues, plus the League of Ireland Premier Division. See our guide to the best football betting sites in Ireland.
  • Horse racing: Irish and UK racing every day, plus racing from the US, South Africa, Australia and South America, and ante-post markets. Compare our horse racing betting sites.
  • Greyhound racing: Irish and UK tracks. See our greyhound betting sites.
  • Other sports: tennis, golf, cricket, rugby union, rugby league, boxing, MMA, darts, Formula 1, American football, basketball, ice hockey, baseball and Australian rules, plus politics and TV specials.

Matchbook doesn’t list Gaelic football or hurling, so GAA punters will need a bookmaker for those.

Are Matchbook Odds Fair?

A bookmaker builds a margin, or overround, into its odds: add up the implied probabilities of every outcome and the total comes to more than 100%. Around 102% to 105% is sharp, 106% to 109% is average and 110% or more is poor value. An exchange works differently, because other punters set the prices and Matchbook takes commission on your winnings instead, so its books should sit close to 100%.

We took Matchbook’s best back prices for three Premier League matches from our odds feed on 28 October 2026. Overround is the sum of 1 divided by each decimal price, and payout is 200 minus the overround:

MatchHomeDrawAwayOverroundPayoutOverround after 2% commission
Chelsea v Manchester United (31 October)1.864.204.40100.30%99.70%101.53%
Manchester City v Brighton (31 October)1.704.605.00100.56%99.44%101.72%
Newcastle v Everton (2 November)2.403.653.10101.32%98.68%102.66%

Matchbook’s books averaged 100.73% before commission and 101.97% after a 2% commission. bet365, Paddy Power and BoyleSports priced the same three matches at averages of 107.06%, 107.09% and 108.15%. Even once commission is paid, Matchbook’s odds were fairer than any of the three bookmakers on these matches.

How Competitive Are Matchbook Odds?

These are the decimal win prices on the same three matches. The “after commission” row converts Matchbook’s prices to what a winning back bet actually pays at 2% commission:

BookmakerChelsea (v Man Utd)Man Utd (v Chelsea)Man City (v Brighton)Brighton (v Man City)Newcastle (v Everton)Everton (v Newcastle)
Matchbook1.864.401.705.002.403.10

bet3651.804.101.654.502.203.00
Paddy Power1.754.001.624.752.252.88
BoyleSports1.803.801.624.502.202.90
Best bookmaker price1.804.101.654.752.253.00

Matchbook’s price, even after commission, beat the best bookmaker price on all six selections, by between 0.04 and 0.23 in decimal odds. The gap is biggest on outsiders such as Manchester United at 4.33 against 4.10, which is where bookmakers tend to cut prices hardest. The draw was the one market where a bookmaker came close: Paddy Power’s 3.60 on Newcastle v Everton matched Matchbook’s after-commission price exactly.

Matchbook History and Reputation

Matchbook launched in 2004 as a low-commission betting exchange, and Triplebet Limited has run it since 2011. The business is based in Cork, and its chief executive is Ronan McDonagh. On 14 October 2026 Matchbook completed its takeover of Betdaq, the exchange founded in Ireland in 2000, and it is combining the two into what it calls a single, deeper pool of money. The deal also brought in Racecourse Data Technologies, whose systems let on-course bookmakers hedge their bets on the exchange.

Matchbook holds two licences from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, both issued on 1 October 2026: a remote betting licence and a remote betting intermediary licence, which covers the exchange. It is also licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. Triplebet’s GRAI licence also covers easybet, its joint venture with easyGroup.

Matchbook Exchange Features

Matchbook is an exchange first: you back a selection to win or lay it to lose at prices other punters offer, or ask for a better price and wait for someone to match it. Around that, it runs these features:

  • In-play betting: bets that would match an existing offer wait through a short delay of between 1 and 10 seconds, depending on the sport and market.
  • Cash out: settles your position on a selection at the current exchange price. It isn’t available on multiples, bet builders or Matchbook Zero.
  • Bet Builder: up to 12 selections from one match, on football and other sports.
  • Multiples: from doubles to Goliaths on back bets, with no commission on multiples.
  • Matchbook Zero: zero-commission, zero-margin prices on selected racing and football markets, limited to one bet per event with a capped payout.
  • Live streaming: horse and greyhound racing streams in the app.
  • Matchbook Brokerage: a service for large or bespoke trades that the open market can’t absorb, launched in 2022.
  • Matchbook Insights: free tips and previews from tipsters including Rory Delargy, Donn McClean and Mark O’Haire.

Matchbook Mobile App

Matchbook’s app runs on iOS 15 or later and on Android. It is rated 4.6 out of 5 from 89 ratings on Ireland’s App Store and 4.3 from 742 ratings on Google Play, where it has more than 50,000 downloads. The app covers the full exchange, bet builders, multiples and in-play betting, and it needs location services switched on so Matchbook can confirm where you are betting from. For other options, see our Irish betting apps comparison.

Matchbook Existing Customer Offers & Regular Promotions

Matchbook’s regular promotions are rebates rather than boosts. Each one needs opting in:

  • Monthly Multi-Rebate: 10% of your net losses on multiples of two or more legs, at combined odds of 2.0 or bigger, is returned as free multiple bets, up to €100 a month. Bet builders and cashed-out multiples don’t count.
  • Monthly Bet Builder Rebate: 10% of your net losses on bet builders of two or more legs, at combined odds of 2.0 or bigger, is returned as free bet builders on the first day of the next month, up to €100.
  • 20% rebate welcome offer: the alternative to 0% commission for new customers, with code REBATE20. Matchbook refunds 20% of your net exchange losses over your first 30 days as free bet tokens, up to €1,000 in total and €50 per token.
  • Betdaq switch offer: former Betdaq customers can register with code MATCHBOOK110 for the same 0% commission for 110 days.

Customer Service

Matchbook’s customer service runs through live chat, open from 9am to 2am GMT every day, and by email at [email protected]. There is no published phone number, but you can ask for a call back through live chat. Complaints go to [email protected].

Responsible Gambling

Matchbook lets Irish customers set a deposit limit or a net deposit limit over 24 hours, seven days or a month, take a time-out of 24 hours, a week or a month, and self-exclude for six months or more. Lowering a limit takes effect straight away, while raising one needs a 24-hour cooling-off period. The National Gambling Exclusion Register isn’t running yet, so self-excluding at Matchbook doesn’t block you at other Irish sites. Blocking tools such as BetBlocker and GamBan work across sites.

If gambling stops being fun, free and confidential help is available from Gambling Care on 1800 936 725, 24 hours a day, at gamblingcare.ie, and from Extern Problem Gambling on 089 241 5401 at problemgambling.ie.

Our Expert’s Take

I’d open a Matchbook account before any big week of football or racing, because its prices beat every bookmaker I compared it with on the same matches, even after commission. The 0% commission for 110 days makes the first months cheaper still, but the clock starts at registration, so don’t sign up and leave the account idle. It isn’t the place for free bets or acca boosts, and on smaller markets you’ll sometimes need patience to get a decent stake matched.

Matchbook FAQs

Yes. Triplebet Limited, which runs Matchbook, has held a remote betting licence and a remote betting intermediary licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland since 1 October 2026, so it can take bets from customers in Ireland.

Do You Pay Commission on Losing Bets at Matchbook?

No. Matchbook only charges commission on your net winnings on a market, so a losing bet costs you your stake and nothing more. During the welcome offer, winning bets carry no commission either.

What Does Laying a Bet Mean on Matchbook?

Laying means betting that a selection won’t win, which puts you in the bookmaker’s position. If you lay a team at 3.00 for a €10 stake, you win €10 if they don’t win and pay out €20, your liability, if they do.

Can You Bet on GAA at Matchbook?

No. Matchbook doesn’t list Gaelic football or hurling markets, so you’ll need a bookmaker for GAA betting.

Can You Claim the Matchbook Offer Through Matched Betting?

Not through a matched betting service. The 0% commission offer isn’t open to customers who sign up through Outplayed, OddsMonkey, Matched Betting Blog or Team Profit. Our matched betting guide explains how exchanges fit into matched betting.

What Happened to Betdaq?

Matchbook bought Betdaq on 14 October 2026 and is moving its customers onto Matchbook. Former Betdaq customers can open a Matchbook account with the code MATCHBOOK110 for 0% commission for 110 days.
