“None found” and “Not confirmed” mean we couldn’t find the feature on the bookmaker’s Irish site or in its Irish terms, not that it can never appear. GAA markets are thin in the off-season, so we counted a Gaelic games section in the sports menu or in the betting rules.
New Betting Sites in Ireland
The newest name on an Irish bookmaker list is usually a newly licensed site, not a new bookmaker. Every online bookmaker in Ireland has needed a licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) since 1 July 2026, when the old Revenue licences ran out. So every licence on the register is new, and the issue date mostly shows when a company applied. These are the most recent licences among the sites on this page:

Some comparison sites list brands such as Puntit and AK Bets as new Irish betting sites. Neither is a trading name on the GRAI register published on 20 October 2026, so we don’t list them. A genuinely new bookmaker has to appear on the register before it can take bets from people in Ireland, and the register is the first place to check any site you haven’t heard of.

BoyleSports, bet365, BetVictor and talkSPORT BET guarantee the best odds on UK and Irish racing, from 8am at BoyleSports and bet365 and from 9am at the other two. If the starting price beats the price you took, you’re paid at the bigger one. bet365’s guarantee covers multiples and greyhound racing too. Paddy Power’s also starts at 8am, but you have to opt in first, only bets of €5 or more qualify, and the extra is capped at €1,000 a day. QuinnBet’s starts at 10am and covers multiples and system bets, up to €150 extra per race. bet365, BetVictor and LiveScore Bet are the easiest places to watch: a funded account or a recent bet lets you stream every UK and Irish race, with no stake on each one, while Betway asks for a bet on the race you want to watch, and Paddy Power for a deposit and a bet before its racing streams play. bet365 has the broadest football markets, with bet builders of up to 12 selections and a 2 Goals Ahead early payout. Paddy Power insures pre-match accas of five or more legs, LiveScore Bet’s 2UP early payout covers League of Ireland games, and Novibet boosts bet builders by up to 50%. GAA
Gaelic football and hurling are listed at BoyleSports, Paddy Power, bet365, Novibet, Kwiff, BetVictor, talkSPORT BET, NetBet, Betway, LiveScore Bet and TonyBet. BoyleSports and Paddy Power have the deepest coverage. Paddy Power’s Gaelic Games section has match and handicap betting, accas and specials across county and provincial club championships in football and hurling, plus a tab for games shown live on RTÉ and TG4. BoyleSports adds total points markets and lists its Gaelic Games section in its main menu. bet365 says it streams Gaelic games live, so you can bet in-play while you watch. Out of season, most bookmakers list only outright markets on next year’s All-Ireland championships. Check the settlement rules before a knockout game: BetVictor, for example, settles Gaelic football and hurling match bets on normal time including added time, so extra time doesn’t count. We didn’t find GAA markets at Midnite, Matchbook or QuinnBet.
Greyhounds

Betting Exchanges
Matchbook is the only betting exchange on our list. On an exchange you back or lay a selection at prices other punters offer, and you pay commission on net winnings instead of a bookmaker’s margin. NetBet pays out on the first horse past the post in UK and Irish racing, even if it’s later demoted in a stewards’ enquiry. It lists county club Gaelic football and hurling, and streams racing for logged-in customers, but doesn’t offer Best Odds Guaranteed. Is Online Betting Legal in Ireland?
Yes, with a bookmaker that holds a GRAI licence. The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 set up the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, and since 1 July 2026 any company that takes bets online or by phone from people in Ireland needs a GRAI remote betting licence. Each licence lasts three years, so one issued on 1 July 2026 expires on 30 June 2029.
How to Check a Betting Site’s Licence
- Open the GRAI licence register and filter by Business to Consumer.
- Search for the brand. The search is loose, so open the entry and read its Trading Names tab to be sure the brand is really covered.
- Check that the licence type is Remote Betting and that the expiry date hasn’t passed.
- Match the licensed company with the company named in the bookmaker’s website footer or terms.
A licence number such as GRAI-0852-RB-26-0001 contains the licensee’s account number (0852), the activity (RB for remote betting, RBI for a betting intermediary such as an exchange), the year of issue (26) and a sequence number.
Why an Offshore Betting Site Is a Risk
Offering bets to people in Ireland without a GRAI licence is an offence that carries up to eight years in prison, and the GRAI warns that customers of unlicensed sites can’t rely on its consumer protections. A licensed bookmaker that breaks the rules faces fines of up to €20 million or 10% of its turnover. A GRAI licensee has to:
- check your age and identity before you bet;
- let you set a spending limit;
- refuse credit cards, e-wallets loaded from a credit card and any credit of its own;
- close your account when you ask, and after 13 months without activity;
- not withhold winnings unreasonably;
- link to parental-control software.
The Act’s rules on advertising, promotions and inducements, the National Gambling Exclusion Register and the Social Impact Fund have not started yet.

Welcome Offers at Irish Betting Sites
Most Irish welcome offers pay free bets after a qualifying bet, and four terms decide what one is really worth:
- Minimum odds: the qualifying bet usually has to be at evens (2.0) or bigger.
- Expiry: free bets typically last seven days, though Paddy Power gives 30.
- Stake not returned: a €10 free bet that wins at evens pays €10, not €20.
- Payment method: several offers exclude e-wallet deposits.

Payments and Withdrawals at Irish Betting Sites
Credit cards are banned for betting with GRAI-licensed bookmakers under section 165 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024. The ban covers e-wallets topped up by credit card too. Debit cards work at every site on this page, Apple Pay at most of them, and PayPal, Revolut and Skrill at fewer. Withdrawals to e-wallets are usually the quickest, while debit card withdrawals can take several working days.

Do You Pay Tax on Betting Winnings in Ireland?
No. Betting winnings are exempt from capital gains tax under section 613 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997. The State’s betting duty is charged to the bookmaker at 2% of stakes, and betting exchanges pay 25% of the commission they charge Irish customers, so nothing is deducted from your returns.
