Daryl Carter’s Five Outsiders To Consider At Royal Ascot 2021

Royal Ascot 2021 promises to be an incredible week of racing, with some high-class handicaps dotted around some of the most prestigious Group races in the British calendar. Whilst those towards the head of the market tend to be the focus of attention of many punters, there can be shocks aplenty over the five-day meeting – with last year’s 150/1 winner Nando Parrado a prime example of this. Taking a more in-depth look into this, top GG tipster Daryl Carter has identified his five outsiders it will be worth considering at Royal Ascot 2021. Check out his thought below.

St James’s Palace Stakes – Naval Crown – 40/1

Naval Crown ran a blinder at Newmarket in the English 2,000 Guineas and set a scorching pace only to slow into the dip and stay on again to be beaten just three lengths by Poetic Flare. That form tends to work out every year, so it shouldn’t be scoffed at and given the above mentioned Poetic Flare is as short as 10/3, the price just looks way off. Providing he doesn’t do too much too soon, this stiff track will suit him, and he has the form in the book to be at least a third of the price he currently is.

Royal Hunt Cup/ Kensington Palace Stakes – Stunning Beauty 33/1

She bounced right back to form for us at Doncaster last time out, winning off a handicap mark of 93. That was only her third start in the UK, and she is entitled to improve a good deal more yet. Connections once thought of her as a Group 1 filly, so she would be a welcome addition to this wide-open handicap over the straight mile.

Ribblesdale – Creative Flair 20/1

Has achieved more than her price would suggest in her four career starts and she has improved leaps and bounds with each start. Her two-year-old form looks very strong, and she bettered that this season and with a similar profile to 2018 runner-up Wild Illusion could be over-priced.

Wokingham – Ivatheengine – 33/1

It takes some forgiving, but he is certainly better than his mark of 92, and his run at Chelmsford last time can be forgiven seems as he reared coming out of the stalls and lost all chance. He is better judged on his form last term and his seasonal return over a trip too short in a hot contest at Newbury.

Duke Of Cambridge – Indie Angel 25/1

She was highly progressive as a three-year-old and couldn’t get going on seasonal return at Lingfield, shaping as though she needed the run but caught the eye on the wrong side of the track when ploughing her own path at Newbury behind Lady Bowthorpe beaten three lengths. She finished out underhand and heels riding to suggest there was another day. She is a big price.
