Betfair Sign Up Offer Explained

The Betfair sign up offer grants new players £50 in free bets when you sign up and place a £10 bet.

As long as that first bet is at a minimum of 2.0 or even money, then the new customer will receive £50 in free bets to use on any sport.

However bet types such as Canadian, Goliath, Heinz, Lucky 15, Lucky 31, Lucky 63, Patent, Super Heinz, Trixie & Yankee are not eligible for this promotion.

Customers must use the rewards within the first 30 days of their crediting to the account and only deposits via card or Apple Pay are eligible.

Betfair Sign Up Offer Terms & Conditions

The list of terms and conditions for the Betfair sign-up offer is relatively short, compared to other sign-up offers from betting competitors, but that doesn’t make them any less important. The most important T&Cs are listed below:

  • New bettors who do not have a pre-existing Betfair account can claim the welcome offer;
  • The Betfair sign-up bonus is only available to those residing in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland;
  • Only deposits made via Pay by Bank, Apple Pay or debit card will qualify for the offer.
  • You must place your qualifying bet within 30 days: a £10 bet on any sport or market at odds of Evs (2.0).
  • Once this qualifying bet has settled, bettors will receive 5 x £10 free bets, worth £50 in total – these can be viewed under the “My Bonuses” tab. The rewards are valid for 30 days from being awarded.
  • The rewards are Free Bet Builders, and can be used on Bet Builders, accumulators or multiples on any sport.
  • You must open the account using promo code ZSKAOL. The code is applied automatically when you click through from the offer link and cannot be entered manually, so claiming it any other way will not work.
  • The offer is a Sportsbook exclusive, open to accounts registered in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and cannot be combined with any other sign-up offer.
  • The following bet types are excluded from the offer: Canadian, Goliath, Heinz, Lucky 15, Lucky 31, Lucky 63, Patent, Super Heinz, Trixie and Yankee.
  • Same-market bets on the Sportsbook are excluded, as are unmatched, unsettled, voided, cashed out and partially cashed out bets.
  • Bets placed using a free bet as the stake, in full or in part, do not qualify.
  • Phone verification forms part of the sign-up, so you will need a device able to receive an SMS.

Where We’d Use the Betfair Sign-Up Offer This Month

The reward here is five £10 Free Bet Builders rather than plain free bets, so the offer rewards you for stacking legs in one match instead of spreading small singles across a card. That shapes where we would spend it over the next fortnight.

For the qualifying £10 we would take Newcastle United in the match result market at home to Liverpool on Sunday 23 August. Confirm the price meets the Evs (2.0) minimum on the bet slip first, because a shorter price will not release the rewards.

Our Betfair Bets to Consider This Fortnight

With five Bet Builders to spend and 30 days to use them, we would build rather than punt. Two would go on Manchester City at home to Bournemouth on Sunday 23 August, pairing a home win with an over 1.5 team goals line. A third would go on Chelsea v Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 30 August, combining over 2.5 goals with both teams to score.

We would keep the last two back for the Monday night games — Fulham v Chelsea on 24 August and Aston Villa v Arsenal on 31 August — where a cards-and-corners builder tends to price up more generously than a straight result. Free bet stakes are not returned, so the value is in the returns alone.

Step By Step Guide on How to Claim the Betfair Welcome Offer

It’s quick and easy for new bettors to sign-up to Betfair, claiming the new player’s welcome bonus in the process, with the following step-by-step guide.

New players can quickly access the Betfair landing page by clicking on the sign up button. This page highlights the welcome offer in detail.

Bettors can then view the bonus terms and conditions before clicking the “Join Now!” button. This opens the Betfair welcome bonus onboarding form, allowing new users to create a betting account.

Step 2. Complete the Sign-Up Form

New users are required to complete Betfair’s onboarding form in its entirety, entering personal details and information.

New members are required to fill in their full name, date of birth, address and telephone number alongside an email address and password combination that will be used to sign in to the bookmaker.

Bettors will also be requested to complete a security question and answer (e.g. father’s first name, first school etc.) and add any deposit limit they wish. The promo code to claim the Betfair sign up offer will be automatically entered when clicking through from GG.

All bettors will then be required to verify their account via SMS. An alternative verification method can be used if SMS is unavailable.

Step 3. Place a Sportsbook bet of a minimum of £10

Once the account has been created, new bettors are required to place a sportsbook bet of a minimum value of £10 to trigger the welcome bonus.

This sports bet must be the first bet made with the new account and can be on any market with minimum odds of 1/2 (1.5). All deposits made when claiming the bonus must be made with a debit card or Apple Pay.

Step 4. Receive the Betfair Sign Up Bonus

Once the qualifying initial sports bet has settled, new bettors will receive £50 in free bets for use at Betfair.

The bonus funds are available for 30 days after they have been issued to a bettor. When used, the free bet stake will not be returned to the player.

The following bet types are not available when using the Betfair sign-up bonus: Canadian, Goliath, Heinz, Lucky 15, Lucky 31, Lucky 63, Patent, Super Heinz, Trixie & Yankee.

Betfair Reputation and History

Betfair was founded in London in the year 2000, and has since become one of the UK’s most trusted and reputable brands. The current CEO, Peter Jackson has held the position since 2018, helping to steer Betfair into the modern age with new mobile app innovations.

Speaking of the Betfair mobile app, on the App Store it has a user rating of 4.7/5 from almost 100,000 reviews, which is an extraordinary figure. This is testament to Betfair’s reputation and trustworthiness, and is very impressive considering the nature of online betting. You would typically expect a much lower user rating simply due to the fact that betting is a high risk pastime.

Admittedly, the reviews are less favourable on Trustpilot, but for the reasons mentioned previously most betting sites average around 3 out of 5 – Betfair has a rating of 3.1. Whilst some 5-star reviews praise Betfair’s interface and customer support services, some less happy customers claimed they had to wait too long for their issues to be resolved.

Here are a few things customers of Betfair said:

“Betfair is an honest platform and will also assist in suggesting the right direction in picking the best team to win and also suspend your cash out till you win because you can want to quickly cash out”

“So far so good. Returning customer who had problems with his last provider. So tried Betfair again. No problems updating address and reactivating account. Not forced the horrid deposit limits on or even asked me to set them which I will not.”

“Mostly fine but their customer service people are woefully undertrained for anything except basic queries. Exchange customers with experience should get better support.”

Betfair Pros:

  • Betfair have a £50 sign up bonus for new customers
  • Betfair not only have the Sportsbook, but they also have an Exchange
  • Betfair can offer extra places on horse racing
  • Betfair have price boosts available on a number of sports
  • You can sometimes get free bet promotions with Betfair

Betfair Cons:

  • Betfair don’t offer best odds guaranteed
  • Betfair don’t always offer a speedy cash out option

Betfair Quality of Odds

With so much competition for business it’s important that bookmakers offer competitive prices for sporting events. Betfair are certainly one of the leading betting brands out there, but how do their odds match up against their rivals? The Premier League is undeniably the most popular betting product out there, so we take a look at Betfair’s quality of odds on the top-flight clash between Arsenal and West Ham. The Gunners are hot 4/7 favourites with Betfair to land the win, which is not the best price around, as some firms are going 8/13. A West Ham win is 9/2 though, the best odds available for the upset.

Betfair vs Other Bookmakers

Compared to other UK bookmakers, Betfair performs well with competitive odds, a great user interface and a fantastic selection of markets.

The bookie also offers a good welcome offer for new players alongside an additional casino bonus for fans of slots and table games. Unlike some of its competitors, Betfair offers a betting exchange, providing an alternative to the standard sports betting markets with a peer-to-peer platform.

Betfair is also home to some of the strongest horse racing ambassadors, such as Bryony Frost and Rachael Blackmore. As well as this, they are synonymous with one of the biggest races over jumps, the Betfair Chase, the beginning of the colloquial jumps “Triple Crown”.

Betfair Existing Customer Offers & Regular Promotions

Betfair puts most of its promotional weight behind the welcome offer, and keeps a deliberately short list for existing customers. What is there leans towards football multiples and daily racing content.

Bet Builder Insurance

The pick of the standing offers. Opt in, then place a Same Game Multi or Bet Builder of five legs or more, and if exactly one leg lets you down Betfair refunds your stake as a free bet, capped at £10 per customer per day. The free bets go back on Same Game Multi or Bet Builder markets, and anything you win from them is paid in withdrawable cash rather than as a further bonus — which is the part that sets it apart from most insurance offers.

Free-to-Play £10,000 Jackpot

No stake required. Opt in and submit your predictions before the first match of the round, with one round available per eligible matchday. Each correct answer scores a point, but you need every question right to take a share of the jackpot, and the jackpot value varies by round. Any free bet or Bet Builder offer won this way expires seven days after it is awarded.

Oddsboost Tokens

Betfair awards Oddsboost tokens to individual accounts, which you apply to a qualifying selection on the bet slip to lift the price. Worth checking your promotions hub for one before placing a bet, though these are issued to selected customers rather than available to everyone.

Daily Racing Content

Not offers as such, but they sit alongside them on the promotions page and are genuinely useful if you bet the cards. Betfair publishes Katie Midwinter’s best bets each day, and a stats and analysis piece from Timeform, both refreshed for the day’s racing.

Opt-in is required on the insurance and jackpot offers, and full terms apply to each. Check the qualifying markets and caps on the Betfair promotions page before you bet.

Betfair Mobile App Features

The Betfair mobile app allows bettors to place sports bets on the go with an easy-to-use interface that makes betting a breeze. Bettors with both iOS and Android devices can download the application logging into their account and jumping straight into the action.

As touched upon previously, the Betfair app is simply one of the best on the market, with an unrivalled App Store user rating of 4.7 out of 5. All of the comments praise the site’s design, and we would have to agree. Everything is clearly laid out, making it very easy to find your favourite sports and markets and you can place a bet within seconds.

Sports You Can Bet On at Betfair

At the time of writing, there are over 20 different sports listed on the Betfair site. However, these will change depending on the time of year, as Betfair will add and remove popular events depending on when they occur. The list of sports on offer at Betfair are:

Betfair Betting Markets

Betfair offers a long list of betting markets, with countless sports, bet outcomes, and accumulator options for all bettors.

Players can also enhance the betting markets by using the My Oddsboost bet tokens, of which two are issued to each bettor each day. These can be used to boost the price of accumulators or single bets with unlimited options available.

Betfair Sports Betting Features

There are a whole host of sports betting features available with Betfair and they have some excellent bet builder tools to use on football matches. From backing players to be booked or score at anytime, with Betfair you are able to add these together in a bet builder. They offer in-play betting as well, which is a huge positive for customers, while the Exchange can often see you get a big price about an unfancied horse in a horse race at the likes of the Cheltenham Festival or Royal Ascot.

Betfair Casino

In addition to the comprehensive sportsbook offered by Betfair, the brand also allows bettors to play casino games.

The Betfair Casino is packed with top-quality games from some of the UK’s favourite game providers.

From top slots including “Starburst”, “Big Bass Bonanza” and “Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead” to Live Casino games such as “Lightning Roulette” from Evolution Gaming and Betfair’s very own Live Blackjack. There’s plenty to see and play at Betfair’s online casino.

New players looking to join the Betfair Casino may be eligible for the dedicated casino welcome bonus, offering 50 free spins for all new players.

Customer Service

The first port of call for bettors looking to address any issues at Betfair is the comprehensive help section featured on the site.

This section, divided into categories, can either be navigated or searched directly to find the answers to specific betting queries. If bettors cannot find the answer to their questions, a live chat option can be found beneath the categories in this help centre.

Bettors are not required to log into their accounts when requesting assistance from the live help assistant.

Responsible Gambling

Betfair is passionate about responsible gambling, offering smart betting tools and information surrounding problem gambling.

By heading over to the Safer Gambling section on the Betfair site, all bettors can choose from the following responsible gambling tools:

  • Deposit Limit
  • Loss Limit
  • Time out
  • Session Timer
  • Reality Checks
  • Self Exclusion
  • Budget Calculator
  • Self Assessment

It is recommended that all bettors view and understand the available safe gambling tools and use those they find helpful.

Deposit limits, loss limits, time out, session timers and reality checks are fantastic tools for preventing problem gambling. Self Exclusions, budget calculators and self-assessments are great for addressing problem gambling and preventing it from impacting day-to-day life.

Our Expert’s Take

Betfair remains one of my favourite betting sites in the UK. All of the betting features – from the in-play betting and mobile app to the live streaming and excellent bet builder product – work extremely well, all whilst being clearly laid out and easy to find.

As shown earlier, the odds are routinely competitive, and if you are never unhappy with a price, you can hop on over to the Betfair Exchange to mix things up. Few other bookies give users such a degree of freedom when betting, and this is only enhanced by Betfair having one of the most highly rated betting apps in the UK.

There are, however, one or two areas in which Betfair could improve. The fact that Best Odds Guaranteed is no longer on offer is very disappointing for one, but we’re seeing this at more and more UK bookies these days.

All in all, though, Betfair is without doubt a leader in the UK betting industry, and I would highly recommend choosing them as your next betting site.
