USA will be one of the host nations at the 2026 World Cup and are huge outsiders in the latest World Cup betting, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side could be potential banana skins on home soil. We look at all the latest World Cup odds for USA, as well as looking at their fixtures, squad, top scorer odds and a potential predicted line-up.
USA 2026 World Cup Odds
Having finishing a best placed third at the 1930 World Cup, USA may struggle to emulate that feat in the summer, and the bookmakers have them priced up as huge 80/1 outsiders to lift the iconic trophy in July. Their World Cup outright odds are pretty big, but they have shown down the years they are capable of causing upsets.

With the likes of Paraguay and Australia in Group D with USA, they will be hoping that they can make it through the first round stage and will be hoping the likes of former Arsenal star Folarin Balogun and Coventry City forward Haji Wright can unlock their opponent’s defences during the tournament. USA 2026 World Cup Predicted XI
Awaiting Predicted XI….
USA World Cup History
USA’s World Cup history lacks significant depth as they have always seemed to struggle in football’s elite tournament. Incidentally, their best ever result came in the first ever Football World Cup played back in 1930, as they finished third. With only 13 teams playing in a tournament won by Uruguay, the US beat Yugoslavia in a 3rd/4th play-off to finish in the bronze medal position.
They failed to qualify between 1954 and 1986, but put up their best recent effort when reaching the quarter-finals at the 2002 World Cup in South Korea & Japan, where they were knocked out 1-0 by Germany.
Having failed to qualify in 2018, they made it to Qatar in 2022, but were knocked out in the round of 16 when beaten 3-1 by the Netherlands.
How Did USA do at the Last World Cup?
Unbeaten in the group stages of the 2022 World Cup having picked up a win over Iran and two draws against England and Wales, USA then faced a tough test against the Netherlands in the round of 16. Unable to deal with their qualities, the US were soundly beaten 3-1 and were knocked out of the tournament.
World Cup 2026 USA Prediction
USA will have home advantage and past tournaments have shown what that can do to rally a nation, so they should be able to make it through their group. Looking to venture deep into the tournament they will need to show quality all over the pitch, but they do lack significant strength in depth.
It’s more than likely that the round of 32 or round of 16 will see USA depart the tournament.
