Daryl Carter’s Five Horses To Follow At Royal Ascot 2021
We are getting ever closer to the start of Royal Ascot 2021, and here at GG, we will provide your go-to Royal Ascot content – including expert tips for all races. In anticipation of what is promising to be one of the most competitive Royal meetings in recent memory, top GG tipster Daryl Carter has identified five horses that he feels it will pay to keep on the right side of at next week’s meeting. Check out his thought below.
Pyledriver
It looks as though the Hardwicke Stakes will be the target for which he is currently around 6/1 favourite but even that looks value. He failed to handle the undulating courses at Newmarket and then Epsom when winning the Coronation Cup last time but got the job done anyway. That’s the sign of a useful horse, and he returns to the scene of his King Edward triumph in 2020, so it’s highly likely the best is yet to come now on a more conventional track.
Samoot
Samoot doesn’t have any fancy entries just yet, but she will likely turn up and that could be in the Jersey Stakes, but she would be of more interest in the Buckingham Palace Handicap over 7f off her current mark of 86. She is at least 10lbs ahead of the handicapper, and a return to a straight 7f will suit much better than the turning course of Wolverhampton, where she lost all chance at the start. She is a nice prospect.
Aldaary
Three-year-old Aldaary could be the one for the Jersey Stakes. He looked sensational until drawn wide on soft ground at Goodwood latest when third of eleven behind a subsequent winner. He was poorly positioned off a slow enough pace but made up considerable ground before failing to get up. He is a top-class prospect and almost certainly a group horse.
Desert Dreamer
A two-year-old filly who looks well above average and is unbeaten in two starts this season. Her form has worked out very well, and she has plenty of options, including going up to 7f. Wherever she goes, so will my money.
Derab
He has no entries, and this may come too quickly after his French Derby run on June 6th, but he caught the eye from a wide draw in that race and was denied a clear run – if he doesn’t come to Royal Ascot, he is worth keeping on side for the season ahead.
