Matthew Sutcliffe

Matthew Sutcliffe is a weekly columnist for GG.co.uk and is a relatively fresh face within the racing industry. It wasn’t until he was asked to write an article for the Betting and Gaming Council regarding his first experience of the Cheltenham Festival in 2021 that he decided to pursue a career within the game, and as an English Literature Graduate, combining his love of racing and passion for writing only seemed natural. Matthew began to write his own racing blog along with putting up selections on Twitter, where he would typically seek winners at larger odds accompanied by an extensive write up. After gaining a following from the aforementioned, Matthew was approached by GG.co.uk in March to write his weekly column, ‘pointers and punts’, focusing on eye-catching runs from the previous weekend and ‘value’ plays for the following weekend.
