Championship Form Guide: The Season So Far
Swansea City have pulled clear at the summit after a 2-1 win over Norwich City on Saturday took them to 20 points from nine games, and the Swans are now 12/1 for the title. Middlesbrough are their closest pursuers on 18 after a 1-0 win over Wolves, who are fifth with a game in hand. West Ham drew 1-1 with QPR at the London Stadium and sit third on 16, level with Stoke City, who won 2-1 at Bolton. West Brom were beaten 1-0 at home by Birmingham City and have dropped to ninth, in a six-team logjam on 14 points. Boro are now second favourites at 4/1, with Wolves 5/1.
At the other end, Preston North End have just four points after losing 1-0 at home to Millwall and are 4/6 favourites for the drop. Burnley’s 4-0 win at Watford was their first of the season, but they remain 22nd, level on seven points with Cardiff City and one ahead of Derby County. Promoted pair Bolton Wanderers (5/4) and Lincoln City (11/8) are next in the relegation betting. The midweek round follows on Tuesday and Wednesday, before Swansea host West Ham in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday 17 October.

Other Championship Betting Markets
As well as betting on the title race in the Championship, or on in-game markets, you can bet on the following outright options, with the Championship offering a greater array than the Premier League.
Championship Promotion Odds
If you fancy a team to get promoted but do not want to take the risk of them needing to finish top, you can back purely on promotion markets for teams in the Championship. For the likes of West Ham and Wolves, this offers greater security, albeit at shorter odds.
Championship Relegation Odds
At the other end of the table, three teams will be relegated come the season’s end. Preston North End are now 4/6 favourites for the drop after a dreadful start, with promoted sides Bolton Wanderers (5/4) and Lincoln City (11/8) next in the betting. Derby County (9/4), Portsmouth (5/2), Charlton and Cardiff City (both 11/4) are also among the sides expected to be scrapping for survival.
Championship Top Goalscorer Odds
Some big names will feature in the Championship this season. Jarrod Bowen remains faithful to West Ham and is favourite to bag some due returns in the second tier. Raul Jimenez, meanwhile, is back at Wolves after scoring thrice for Mexico at the World Cup. The marksman managed three double-figure returns as a Premier League striker. Norwich’s Mo Toure and Middlesbrough’s Will Lankshear should also bag plenty across the 46-game season, and Lankshear is now the 11/4 favourite in the top goalscorer market, ahead of Southampton’s Cyle Larin (4/1) and Bowen (7/1).
