Today's Chepstow Tips, Racecards And Results
Chepstow results — 15 June 2026
Yesterday at Chepstow the card produced a busy afternoon of competitive racing. The going started GOOD TO SOFT (good in places) but improved to GOOD after the 14:55 (Race 3) contest, which had an influence on the closing events. Tony Carroll-trained runners enjoyed a strong day, landing a treble, and Rossa Ryan rode a treble, combining to shape several of the key finishes. There were a number of withdrawals and self-certificates throughout the card.
Key events
Pride Of Nepal (2/1) kicked off the winners with a well-timed late move in the BJ Llewellyn Handicap (Div I). Tony Carroll followed up with Palazzo Persico (15/2) in the Div II, while Clive Cox’s Miss Kodi (6/1) impressed in the fillies’ novice to give Rossa Ryan an early strike. Sonic Si (13/8) and Hint Of The Jungle (9/4) also produced strong closing pieces, the latter holding on by a neck from Ravenglass in the Menzies Recovery Handicap. Going officially upgraded to GOOD after the third race (around 14:55), and several runners were withdrawn or declared non-runners for veterinary or ground reasons.

Chepstow Race Results
Chepstow stages around 30 meetings per year with top quality jump racing during the winter and competitive flat racing in the summer. The Welsh Grand National over three miles and five furlongs in late December is the highlight of Chepstow’s year, one of the most prestigious staying handicap chases of the season.
The Welsh Grand National meeting traditionally takes place on 27th December and is often a target for Aintree Grand National horses. The last horse to win both races in their career was Silver Birch who won here in 2004 and at Aintree two years’ later. It has also featured numerous Cheltenham Gold Cup contenders with Burrough Hill Lad (1983), Cool Ground (1990), Master Oats (1994), Synchronized (2010) and Native River (2016) all going on to win chasing’s blue riband event.
The December meeting also features the Grade 1 Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle, an important trial for the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham. The two-day season opener in October features the Grade 2 Persian War Novices’ Hurdle and the Grade 3 Silver Trophy.

Racecourse Guide
Chepstow is one of only three racecourses in Wales with jump racing held at Bangor-on-Dee while Ffos Las hosts both flat and jump meetings. Chepstow is a left handed oval track of almost two miles. It is very undulating and has a long run-in after jumping the last.
The fences are among the most inviting in the UK but the ground can get extremely heavy so the emphasis is usually on stamina at Chepstow. There are five fences in a long home straight and horses can struggle to finish if they are under pressure turning for home.
Chepstow also has a summer flat programme and there is a chute to provide a straight mile. The uneven nature of the track and daunting home straight means this track favours long striding horses rather than sharper, front running types.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
Chepstow has a fine range of hospitality packages to enhance your day’s racing. The View Restaurant is glass fronted and situated on the first floor of the Premier Stand. As the name suggests, there are stunning panoramic views across the racecourse.
Private boxes offer unrivalled hospitality with your own personal suite. These come with a dedicated host, mouth-watering buffet and access to all public areas. There are special balcony packages available on selected race days. There are also themed marquee packages available which are updated year-round.
Chepstow is in Monmouthshire in south-east Wales and Chepstow Station is on the Gloucester to Newport Line. There are regular trains to Chepstow from Birmingham, Cardiff, Newport and Gloucester. A shuttle bus operates to and from the racecourse on race days.
Tickets
You can book your Chepstow admission tickets in advance online. Your basic admission ticket includes access to public bars and eateries as well as the parade ring. Premier Advance costs an extra £5 with access to the best bars and best views plus any live entertainment. There are staggered discounts for block bookings of more than ten, twenty or thirty tickets.
The Effect of the Draw
A high draw is favoured over the straight mile, especially on fast ground. There is no draw bias on the round course.
