Stayers’ Hurdle Betting News

Gordon Elliott’s Teahupoo is favourite to regain the Stayers’ Hurdle crown he won in 2024, and the 2025 runner-up has continued to be the premier Irish staying hurdler this season. Honesty Policy has hugely improved this campaign and is another prominent figure in the betting, whilst last year’s winner Bob Olinger adds more depth to the race. Ma Shantou has propelled into the mix with some fine displays of late, whilst Kabral Du Mathan, Impose Toi and Ballyburn add more depth to the betting.

Betting on the Stayers’ Hurdle

The Stayers’ Hurdle is one of the premier races at the Cheltenham Festival, and has long been one of the most popular betting heats for punters. Won by some elite stayers down the years including Inglis Drever, Big Buck’s and Flooring Porter, it’s a Grade 1 that is very well contested by the leading stayers in the UK & Ireland.

With big fields always congregating at the 3m start then the betting on the Stayers’ Hurdle is fascinating, as you can sometimes have short-priced favourites, but can also have wide open affairs. With lots of runners lining up then the bookmakers can offer extra places to punters, whilst each-way terms are attractive as well.
