1000 Guineas Betting Odds
The fillies’ opening Classic race of the season is the 1000 Guineas, the sister race of the 2000 Guineas run the day previously. It takes place over the full Rowley Mile, the straight track at Newmarket and is the shortest of the fillies’ Triple Crown races. The 1000 Guineas betting odds will become clearer as the race approaches at the start of May 2027.

Awaiting Odds…
Who are this Year’s 1000 Guineas Favourites?
The 1000 Guineas favourites will not sort themselves out until much further down the line, as the race will not be run until the start of the next flat season. As such, we are waiting for this season’s juveniles to stake their claims for success in the race.
Who are this year’s 1000 Guineas Underdogs?
Just as with the favourites, it is impossible to label any horse a 1000 Guineas underdog at this stage. Only when the race gets closer will we understand the betting markets in greater detail and be able to analyse and recommend any outsiders or underdogs who may perform well in the race.
Betting Strategies for the 1000 Guineas
With so many fillies in the race last year, there were multiple ways of betting effectively on the 1000 Guineas. A decent field is likely again this season, so you can bet far beyond the traditional markets if you wish.
Outright Winner
Though there will be alternative betting markets available, the outright winner one will still be vastly the most popular. Those who found the winner at 28/1 last season were delighted, though in 2018, very few will have found the winner as Billesdon Brook won at 66/1!
Each Way
The 20 runners last year would have ensured each way markets with five or even six places. Though that might not be the case for the 2025 renewal, there will still be more generous each-way terms for a big race like the 1000 Guineas than elsewhere.
Draw Biases
It is imperative to watch a couple of the races earlier on the Newmarket card, because they might help to highlight any draw bias. This has been common and important in recent renewals of Newmarket Classics and could well determine whether you are on to a winner or a loser in the 1000 Guineas.
Accumulators
You cannot place an accumulator within the 1000 Guineas as it is just one race, though you could if you wanted to have a bet on other races on the card that day. Equally, you could place forecasts or tricasts if you have multiple selections that you fancy in the 1000 Guineas, potentially earning you a big payout.
1000 Guineas Odds of Past 10 Winners
Only one favourite has won the 1000 Guineas in the last decade, which is an extraordinarily low percentage. That was Evens favourite Desert Flower for Charlie Appleby and William Buick.
