Champions League Group Stage Odds 2026/27

Europe’s revamped league phase returns for a third season in 2026/27, with all 36 clubs facing eight opponents apiece as they battle for a top-eight finish and automatic passage into the last 16. Paris Saint-Germain go into the campaign as back-to-back champions, but the Champions League itself has proven a genuine leveller under the Swiss model, with English clubs dominating the top-eight places last time out while several traditional heavyweights were forced into the play-off round or eliminated altogether. Below, you’ll find the latest odds on which sides will finish inside the automatic qualification places, who’s likely to be dragged into the knockout play-offs, and who could exit at the first hurdle. We’ll update this page as the fixture list is confirmed and odds move throughout the eight rounds of league phase action.

Champions League Group Stage Odds – Top Eight Finish

Odds are now available for each team in terms of finishing in the top eight of the group stage. English sides dominated the automatic qualifiers last year, with five of the top eight hailing from the Premier League. PSG have shown that a top eight finish is not everything, however: the two-time defending champions have missed out on the top eight in both seasons in which they have won the competition.

How The Champions League League Phase Works

The initial Champions League group phase sees all 36 teams go into one large group. Each team plays eight matches, with two matches each against sides from pots one through to four, which are seeded based on UEFA coefficients.

The top eight in the combined group table after those eight matches go immediately through to the last 16. Teams that finish between 9th and 24th then play each other in a system of 9th vs 24th, 10th vs 23rd etc. to determine who goes through to the last 16. Teams that finish between 25th and 36th are eliminated.

Champions League Group Stage Contenders & Outsiders

It was all about the Premier League in the Champions League’s group stage last season. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have qualified again, as have Aston Villa and Manchester United. Those five will again be among the favourites to qualify in the top eight, as, of course, will defending champions PSG. However, Luis Enrique’s side are yet to finish in the top eight in the two editions with the Swiss model, proving that they improve as the competition progresses.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona also made the top eight a year ago. The German and Spanish giants, along with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, will contend again for the top eight. Sporting Lisbon were the other qualifiers in the top eight last season though, proving that an outsider can emerge victorious in the group stage.
