It was a competitive card on good to soft ground (Good in places; 7.7) at Ayr on 10 August 2026. Next Of Kin (William Haggas, Cieren Fallon) made all to fend off Myesme in the opener, while Obito (David O’Meara, Daniel Tudhope) produced a comfortable late surge to take the big handicap. Naturalia just held on in Division I of the 16:15 contest after a sustained battle, and West Tyrone made all in Division II. Hostelry came from the rear to lead late in the Classified Stakes, and White Umbrella (Christopher Kellett, Tom Eaves) won the 15:45 handicap after a smooth 2f move.
There were a number of non-runners and withdrawals: Dadawada was withdrawn after being unruly at the start, Royal Baroness refused to enter the stalls, several runners were declared non-runners on veterinary or suitability grounds, and She’s Got Bottle was pulled up with an irregular heartbeat noted by the vet. Overall, jockeys produced several well-timed rides and the quicker ground produced a number of decisive late finishes.

Racecourse Guide
Recognised as the premier racecourse in Scotland and hosts regular flat and jump meetings. Its main highlights are the Scottish Grand National held in April and the Western Meeting on the Flat in September that features the Ayr Gold Cup. The left-handed course is approximately one and a half miles in circumference, and tends to suit long-striding gallopers, providing a searching test of stamina in rain-softened conditions.

There are two ticket options available at Ayr racecourse:
- Grandstand Enclosure. Gives access to the Grandstand and the Sports Bar on the ground floor of the Princess Royal Stand. The latter is seen as one of the top grandstand facilities in the United Kingdom. Also have access to the Parade Ring in this enclosure.
- Club Enclosure. Entitles you to access to all public on course facilities, including the Champagne Bar & Gardens. Also have access to view the Pre-Parade ring, as well as all the facilities that you get with a Grandstand ticket.
