Fakenham Race Results
Fakenham is a small, rural racecourse that holds National Hunt meetings throughout the year. The highlight is the Fakenham Silver Cup, a hurdle race which takes place during the Spring meeting in March. The Bank Holiday fixture in April is particularly popular with the locals and is always well-attended.
Racing was first staged at Fakenham in 1905 with the original grandstand built in 1953. The £1 million Prince of Wales Stand was officially opened by the Prince in March 2002. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother visited the course in 1981 and 2000 and her colours were often carried here.

Racecourse Guide
Fakenham is a sharp, left-handed track with a short run-in. The course certainly favours handy, front-running horses rather than the late maturing National Hunt bred staying type. It is also an ideal venue for horses that have been running on the flat.
The jumps course favours a fast, accurate jumper because this is a difficult track on which to make up ground. Fakenham has had its fair share of course specialists, none more so than Cool Roxy who won eleven times here from 25 starts. He was so popular at the track that he was invited to open a bar named in his honour in 2015.
The going rarely gets heavy at Fakenham but the temptation is always to set off at a good gallop so stamina can come into play in softer ground. The fences are not particularly daunting but can catch out a tired horse.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
Fakenham aim to make your day at the races as enjoyable and successful as possible and are happy to provide a hospitality package that is tailored to your needs. Local seasonal produce is provided by racecourse caterers with dining available at The Firth Restaurant in the Prince of Wales Stand. It has a capacity of 40-60 people with tables for parties of up to 8.
You can also book or 2 or 3 course meal at the Lancaster Room at the Gallow Sports Centre. Your reservation includes Grandstand access, a paddock badge and racecard. Five star Indian cuisine is available on selected race days at the Parade Ring Bar.
The nearest rail stations to Fakenham are Kings Lynn and Norwich which are 20 and 25 miles away respectively. The Lynn to Fakenham Railway was closed to passengers in 1959.
Tickets
