Hereford Race Results
Hereford is a jumps-only course that races from October to May, with 17 fixtures in the 2025/26 season. The season starts with the Season Opener in October, and the winter Ladies Day, usually held in March, is the most stylish raceday of the year. Cards are made up of handicap and novice chases and hurdles, along with National Hunt flat races, including qualifiers for series such as the ARC Summer Chase Series. There are no Graded races, and the course describes its racing as competitive grassroots jump racing.
Racing in Hereford can be traced back to 1771. Flat racing was staged on the outskirts of the city until 1883, and the first hurdle race at Hereford was run in 1840. Racing was suspended during both World Wars and resumed in 1946. The course was modernised during the 1960s, and between 1970 and 1974 its number of racedays rose from nine to 15 after fixtures were reallocated from the closed Stockton Racecourse. In 1975 Hereford staged a record 219 runners across 14 races in a single day.
Hereford closed in 2012, and jump racing returned in 2016 after a four-year gap, with 5,000 racegoers at the reopening meeting. The course is now owned and operated by Arena Racing Company.

Racecourse Guide
Hereford is a right-handed track, almost rectangular in shape, with a circuit of about one mile and three furlongs and a long run-in. The racecourse describes it as a fair, galloping layout, although the course built its reputation on sharp bends that test horses and jockeys alike. Because the track is compact, racegoers get a close view of the action from the stands.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
Hereford has a range of bars and food outlets, including The Snaffles restaurant, where you can eat while watching the racing. Seasonal food is served in Piglets Pantry and there is live music in the Hummingbird Bar on Ladies Day. Hospitality packages can be booked through the racecourse website. You cannot bring your own food or drink, including alcohol, into the racecourse, and only assistance dogs are allowed.
Tickets
Children aged 17 and under go racing free at every Hereford fixture when accompanied by an adult. Booking online in advance saves an average of £5 on the gate price. Seniors aged 60 and over and students get £5 off the on-the-day Grandstand price, and carers of disabled racegoers get a complimentary ticket. Blue Light Card holders get 50% off midweek racing and 20% off weekend and bank holiday fixtures at Arena Racing Company courses. Parking is free in the two raceday car parks and does not need to be booked.

The racecourse is about two miles from Hereford city centre, beside the A4103 just off the A49, and around 30 minutes from junctions 2 and 3 of the M50. Hereford station is a 30-minute walk or a five to ten-minute taxi ride away, and the 74B bus from the station stops outside the racecourse. The 492 Holmer and Bobblestock circular from the Maylord Shopping Centre stops a short walk from the entrance.
