Kempton Race Results

Kempton Park is best known as the host of the Grade 1 King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, one of the most prestigious prizes in jump racing. King George ante-post odds are available all season but Kempton also stages frequent flat racing on one of the busiest all-weather tracks in Britain. The floodlit all-weather track was opened in 2006 and now stages around 90 meetings a year.

GG publishes full Kempton Park race results as quickly as possible on the website. You can find all UK and Ireland racing results on the dropdown menu in the top left-hand corner. If you click on each race title it will bring up the complete finishing order including SP and Tote returns.

Racecourse Guide

The King George VI Chase remains the headline race for Kempton Park, second only to the Cheltenham Gold Cup in terms of prestige in steeplechasing. The 2-day Christmas meeting also features The Christmas Hurdle and the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase, both highly significant trials for the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Kempton is a right-handed course and one of the flattest jumping tracks in Britain. It is also one of the easiest jump tracks for a novice and the hurdles course tends to favour flat-racing bred horses unless the going is soft.

The most important flat races at Kempton are the Group 3 September Stakes and Sirenia Stakes. The Easter Stakes, Magnolia Stakes and Rosebery Handicap are other significant flat races on the all-weather.

The flat course is the only right-handed all-weather track in the country and has two separate loops. The inner circuit is for sprint races over five furlongs and races over nine and ten furlongs. It has a short run-in of under two furlongs, a furlong shorter than the outer circuit.

Dining, Hospitality & Facilities

Kempton Park provides a wide choice of fast food outlets around the course. The food court caters for general admission ticket holders with plentiful drink facilities. There is a £1 discount per ticket for group bookings of 10 or more. Other hospitality options include Private Boxes with first class dining and panoramic views across the course. Prices vary from the Classic Box Experience to the Premier Box or VIP Box Experience. The latter is for between 12 and 40 guests and comes with a champagne reception, four course buffet and all-inclusive bar.

Kempton Park racecourse is just 16 miles from London at Sunbury-on-Thames in Surrey. The railway station is just 200 yards from the course with trains every half an hour from London Waterloo except on Boxing Day when a special bus service runs from Turnham Green Underground Station in Chiswick.

Tickets

You can purchase tickets for any of Kempton’s up-coming meetings direct from the website. General admission tickets provide access to the main Grandstand with views of the Parade Ring and Winner’s Enclosure. You can also reserve your hospitality package or take advantage of the popular family summer pass, giving admission to four fixtures with a massive saving of more than 75%.

The Effect of the Draw

A low draw is favoured in all races from five to seven furlongs on the all-weather at Kempton. The track suits front runners and prominent racers rather than hold-up horses. A low draw can also be an advantage in nine and ten furlong races because of the shorter run-in on the inner circuit.

Contact and Location

Kempton Park Racecourse, Staines Rd E, Sunbury, Middlesex TW16 5AQ. United Kingdom.‎
Official Website: https://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/kempton/

The Effect of the Draw

The run style bias is relatively strong from 5f to 7f. Front runners have a good advantage across all three, while prominent racers are preferable to those racing further back early.
