Kempton Park — Results from Wednesday 28 October 2026
Kempton’s all-weather card produced a number of tight finishes and a couple of surprise winners on Polytrack (Standard to Slow). The meeting was dominated by hard-fought sprint and mile contests with Marianne Mozart (16:15) and Girls Allowed (16:45) both clinging on in close finales, while Melodical edged out the heavily-backed Crown The Future in the second division of the London Mile qualifier. Several declared runners were withdrawn on veterinary or self-certification grounds across the card but all nine races were completed.
Key moments and winners
Marianne Mozart held on by a nose after a strong late surge in the opener, with Insuspense finishing fast after a slow start. Julia & Shelley Birkett’s Girls Allowed made all in the 16:45 and just had enough to repel long-shot Far Far Out. In the second division of the Unibet London Mile qualifier Melodical produced a determined finish to lead in the final strides and deny Tony Carroll’s favourite Crown The Future by a neck. Thespian Queen and Maria Da Silva both produced game front-running finishes in their respective fillies’ and fillies’ handicap events, while Treasurer and Poor Relation were two of the day’s bigger-priced winners. Winged One and Strong Voice both produced well-timed late moves to take the big-field handicaps later on the card.
Notable non-runners/withdrawals: Fizzy Bear, Chelio and Who Is Alice (Div II London Mile) were withdrawn on self-certification/temperature/in season; Sayidah Iffraaj was withdrawn with a vet’s certificate; Sovereign Glory was withdrawn lame; Impossible Mission was sold; Ash Wednesday was withdrawn with a cut mouth. No races were abandoned.

Kempton Race Results
Kempton Park has one of the busiest all-weather tracks in Britain, staging Flat racing all year round, much of it in the evening under floodlights. The floodlit all-weather track opened in 2006 and stages most of Kempton’s 70-plus fixtures a year.

Racecourse Guide
Kempton Park’s all-weather track opened in March 2006, after the racecourse closed for eleven months while it was built. The Polytrack surface has been topped up and refurbished several times since. Kempton was also the first racecourse with fully retractable floodlights, and most of its 42 floodlight poles fold flat to the ground so they don’t block the view on daytime racedays.
Floodlit evening racing, mostly in midweek, makes up much of the all-weather programme, with afternoon cards as well, especially at weekends. The biggest days are in late March and on Easter Monday, when the Rosebery Handicap and Magnolia Stakes are run, and September Stakes day in early September, which also stages the final of the London Mile Series.
The most important flat races at Kempton are the Group 3 September Stakes and Sirenia Stakes. The Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes, Magnolia Stakes and Rosebery Handicap are other significant flat races on the all-weather.
The flat course is the only right-handed all-weather track in the country and has two separate loops. The inner circuit is for sprint races over five furlongs and races over nine and ten furlongs. It has a short run-in of under two furlongs, a furlong shorter than the outer circuit.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
Kempton Park provides a wide choice of fast food outlets around the course. The food court caters for general admission ticket holders with plentiful drink facilities. Groups of 10 or more get a discount on pre-booked tickets, although some fixtures are excluded. Other hospitality options include Private Boxes with first class dining and panoramic views across the course. Prices vary from the Classic Box Experience to the Premier Box or VIP Box Experience. The VIP Box Experience comes with a champagne reception, four course buffet and inclusive bar.
Kempton Park racecourse is just 16 miles from London at Sunbury-on-Thames in Surrey. The railway station is just 200 yards from the course with trains every half an hour from London Waterloo on race days, taking about 40 minutes. Rail services are different over Christmas, so check the racecourse’s travel information before the Boxing Day meeting.

The Effect of the Draw
A low draw is favoured in all races from five to seven furlongs on the all-weather at Kempton. The track suits front runners and prominent racers rather than hold-up horses, and this run-style bias is strongest from five to seven furlongs. A low draw can also be an advantage in nine and ten furlong races because of the shorter run-in on the inner circuit.
