Kilbeggan Race Results

Kilbeggan has been on its present site since 1901 and stages ten National Hunt meetings between April and September. There is a 2-day Spring meeting in April and a Summer Sunday and Mid-Summer Monday evening meeting in June.

The feature race at Kilbeggan is the Midlands Grand National in July. The race was upgraded to Grade B status in 2022, the first graded race to be staged at the Westmeath course. Recent winners include Irish Grand National winners Rogue Angel and Freewheelin Dylan. There are additional meetings in August and an End of Season Celebration in September.

GG will publish detailed Kilbeggan race results as quickly as possible on the website. We also list all of yesterday’s results, complete with SP and Tote returns.

Racecourse Guide

Kilbeggan is located in County Westmeath, in the heart of Ireland. It is a sharp, undulating, round course of only nine furlongs, suiting speedy horses that like to race up with the pace. It is one of the few exclusive jumps courses in Ireland and is fondly regarded as a summer track with popular evening meetings. A welcoming, country racecourse which is very much a part of the fabric of the Irish National Hunt scene.

There is a particularly sharp turn after the second last fence and the run-in is 300 yards uphill. There are six fences to a circuit on the chase course which is outside the hurdles track. The hurdles course is very tight and the horses are always on the turn. Given the course’s unique nature, it is not surprising that it produces its fair share of course specialists.

Dining, Hospitality & Facilities

Kilbeggan offers a range of corporate hospitality, catering for staff, customers or just a group of friends. The panoramic glass-fronted Balcony Suite is located directly opposite the winning post with a private balcony. Packages include free car parking, buffet lunch, bar facilities and TV. Kilbeggan also has a Tented Village located on the hill with stunning views and able to accommodate groups of 100 to 2000 people. Hot and cold food is available on course at every meeting, ranging from soup and rolls to cottage pie, bacon and cabbage with all the trimmings.

Kilbeggan is on the new National M6 motorway Dublin to Galway and is now only 1 hour from Dublin. It is surrounded by the three larger towns of Athlone, Mullingar and Tullamore. The racecourse is 1 mile from the town centre and sign-posted from the town square.
