Today's Limerick Tips, Racecards And Results
Limerick — Race Results (2 July 2026)
Yesterday’s card at Limerick produced a mixture of authoritative displays and dramatic incidents. Minella Rockett and Eastmore both delivered decisive victories in their respective contests, while Run For Oscar provided the day’s big Grade 3 moment at long odds. There were a number of non-completions, including falls and unseats which influenced several races, and a few horses reported physical issues after their races.
Key events and takeaways
Minella Rockett (11/10) led a competitive 3-y-o maiden hurdle and held on to win by about 1½ lengths after a keen tactical race. Eastmore (10/11) made all in the handicap and pulled well clear, with Dairy Force closing to take second. The Grade 3 Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle provided the upset of the day as Run For Oscar (18/1) rallied to edge out Daddy Long Legs late on. Siege Of Carthage (4/1) impressed in the maiden, winning easily, while Global Skies (2/1) produced a determined finish to take the Joe Walsh Flooring Handicap. Sallap and Knocknagoran Lady took the two divisions of the Munster Suite handicap hurdles, and Frisco Lad landed the INPBA INH Flat in the finale.

Limerick Race Results
Limerick was the first new racecourse to open in Ireland for over fifty years in 2001 and now stages 18 meetings each year with a mixture of flat and jumps racing. The biggest meeting of the year is the four-day Christmas Festival in December. The feature races are the Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Chase on St Stephen’s Day and the Grade 2 Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle.
Past winners of the Faugheen Novice Chase include Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Call and Irish Gold Cup winner Bellshill. The Grade 2 Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase in March also has an impressive roll of honour including the prolific Vroum Vroum Mag in 2015. The Christmas Festival also includes a Ladies’ Day and a Family Fun Day.
Another important National Hunt fixture is Munster National weekend in October. This race was won by dual Grand National winner Tiger Roll in 2016. The biggest Limerick race on the flat is the Martin Molony Stakes in April.

Racecourse Guide
Racing has taken place in the Limerick area since 1790 but the previous site at Greenpark was absorbed by urban development. A new site was established near the village of Patrickswell.
Limerick is a right handed circuit of a mile and three furlongs. There is a steep climb on the back straight before a downhill run into the three furlong home straight. There is a slight incline to the finishing post so the course can call on stamina reserves when the going is testing.
There are seven fences to a circuit on the jumps track and five of them come in quick succession on the back straight. The second last can be tricky for horses beginning to tire. The hurdles track is on the inside of the chase course and is therefore sharper and there is a run-in of one furlong after the last.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
Limerick racecourse is sited on 400 acres of prime greenbelt land with the impressive Grandstand overlooking glorious countryside. It is now established as a modern and vibrant course with fantastic facilities, well worthy of staging top class racing.
Hospitality packages include the Panoramic Restaurant which overlooks the home straight. This is perfect for corporate entertainment with mouth-watering cuisine, cash bar and wines with waiter service. On each of the four floors of the Grandstand you can choose from tasty treats to gourmet fine dining. There are also 13 private boxes available to reserve which can accommodate groups of 10 to 120 people.
The nearest train station is Colbert Station on Parnell Street which is just 15 minutes from the racecourse. There are direct trains from Dublin, Enniss, Waterford and Rosslare.
Tickets
You can book your Limerick Early Bird admission tickets online. Your hospitality package for the Panoramic Restaurant can also be reserved online and the racecourse will welcome enquiries for private suite packages for corporate parties or larger groups.
The Effect of the Draw
A low draw is an advantage at Limerick on good or fast ground. The course suits front-runners but the draw is less of a factor when the going is soft.
