Today's Ludlow Tips, Racecards And Results
Ludlow — Yesterday’s results
At Ludlow on good ground (Good to firm in places; Watered; 6.4) it was a day for the big yards as Dan Skelton and Henry Daly both saddled two winners apiece. Silvereen (Henry Daly & Sam Twiston-Davies) set the tone in the Radnor Hills Water Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, while Son Of Tyran and Jafimgoso did the honours for Dan Skelton later in the afternoon. Regal Renaissance and Pergamon provided strong finishing displays in the mares’ chase and handicap hurdle respectively. The cards were also shaped by several non-runners and a couple of pulled-up efforts, with First Candidate, Briery Rose, Law Of Supply and Redbridge Rambler declared non-runners and Dame In Disguise and Ezmerellda pulled up during their races.
Sam Twiston-Davies rode a double for Henry Daly, while Harry Skelton partnered two good rides for Dan Skelton. Front-running tactics paid dividends in a number of races, with Silvereen making all and Zacony Rebel asserting control in the chase to see off Hall Lane.

Non-runners of note: First Candidate (vet’s certificate, pricked foot), Briery Rose (unsuitable ground), Law Of Supply and Redbridge Rambler (withdrawn on self-cert/health grounds). Pulled-up: Dame In Disguise (stumbled then pulled up) and Ezmerellda (tailed off and pulled up). Connections will no doubt take those issues into account when planning next starts.

Ludlow Race Results
Ludlow in Shropshire is a popular National Hunt course which stages meetings throughout the year. The highlight of Ludlow’s season is the Forbra Gold Cup in late February. There are also midweek meetings in the spring from March through to May with a popular charity meeting in April.
The Forbra Gold Cup is named after the 1932 Grand National winner who was owned by local town councillor William Parsonage. Forbra started at odds of 50-1 and was trained by Tom Rimell, father of four-time Grand National winning trainer, Fred Rimell.

Racecourse Guide
Ludlow is one of the oldest racecourses in the country with the first recorded race meeting taking place here in 1729. Flat racing was held here until 1868 when it became exclusively a National Hunt course. Ludlow is a sharp, right handed oval track of about a mile and a half in circumference.
The chase course is on the inside of the hurdles track with fairly easy fences and a run-in of 250 yards. The turns are quite sharp, particularly on the chase track, so the course favours horses with plenty of natural speed. Ludlow is also suited to former flat racers who may struggle to stay two miles on more testing tracks. It is also a popular course with leading trainers such as Nicky Henderson as it is an ideal track for a novice.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
The Grandstand was built in the Edwardian style and opened in 1904. The racecourse has undergone modernisation in recent times and now provides a range of hospitality options including restaurants and private viewing boxes.
You can enjoy fine dining with a superb view of the action at Ludlow with options including the Jubilee Stand or the Plymouth Stand. The Jubilee offers a choice of three course menus with early booking advised for window areas. The package includes a three course carvery lunch.
The Windsor Marquee is sited between the weighing room and the Fairway Café and can seat 300 to 500 people. If you want the ultimate race day experience, Ludlow’s private boxes on the first floor of the Jubilee Stand provide the height of luxury.
