Wexford Race Results
Wexford stages 14 National Hunt fixtures in 2026, running from St Patrick’s Day in March to late October and including five evening meetings. Wexford switched from right- to left-handed in early 2015, when the track was also extended by two furlongs, and Flat racing was dropped in June 2016 to focus on the National Hunt programme.

Racecourse Guide
Wexford is an undulating left-handed circuit of about a mile and a half which provides a solid test for the horses and riders. Usually attracting good-sized fields and competitive racing, Wexford is one of Ireland’s popular countryside tracks and is situated on the east coast. Since the extension it has become a stiffer track, with a climb in the back straight and a sharp rise off the home turn that continues uphill all the way to the winning post, so it now suits stayers more than speedy front runners. The going can also vary around the track owing to the undulations.
Top Irish trainers Willie Mullins, Henry de Bromhead and Gordon Elliott are all regularly represented at Wexford. In October 2022 the Aintree Grand National winner Noble Yeats won the Listed M.W. Hickey Memorial Chase at Wexford for Trainer Emmet Mullins. The gelding followed up by winning the Grade 2 Many Clouds Chase at Aintree but could not quite repeat his Grand National heroics in 2023, eventually finishing fourth behind Corach Rambler.
The same Wexford race had been won by Minella Indo in 2020 who went on to win the 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup for Henry de Bromhead. The horse finished second to stable companion A Plus Tard in the 2022 Gold Cup.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
Wexford boasts a rich racing culture that continues to flourish and guarantee a warm welcome in glorious surroundings. There are many restaurants and bars, mobile food outlets as well as on-course bookmakers and Tote facilities.
A private room with a bar overlooking the course is available to book for parties of up to 60 people, and group Party Packs include admission, a racecard, a matched bet, a buffet or finger food and a reserved table. Hot meals are on offer in the Ivy Room restaurant, which serves a carvery before and during racing, and in the Paddock Cafe. You can enjoy a drink in The Long Bar or the two bars upstairs in the Main Stand, while the Members Bar is reserved for Racing Club supporters. With the covered Main Stand, an uncovered stand overlooking the finishing straight and a dedicated wheelchair viewing stand, Wexford promises good craic and a terrific atmosphere!
Wexford Racecourse is located just outside the town, off the Dublin-Rosslare bypass. There is a regular train service from Dublin.
