Yarmouth Race Results
Yarmouth stages 23 days of flat racing from April through to October. The highest rated race at the course is The John Musker Fillies’ Stakes, a listed race over ten furlongs. This is the highlight of the three-day Eastern Festival meeting in September. Yarmouth also holds four very popular summer evening meetings which are often followed by live music events.
Racing at Great Yarmouth can be traced as far back to 1715 while the first official thoroughbred race meeting took place in 1810 on the South Denes. The venue moved to the North Denes after the First World War with the two grandstands being carefully dismantled and rebuilt. Although Yarmouth is lacking in notable races, it often attracts high class juveniles. Dubai World Cup winner Dubai Millennium made his racecourse debut here while Ouija Board also won a Yarmouth maiden on her way to becoming a seven times Group 1 winner.

Racecourse Guide
Yarmouth is a left handed track of a mile and three-quarters with a long home straight of five furlongs. It also has a straight mile course. The Racecourse underwent extensive work in 2015 when the straight course was levelled and resurfaced. Ridges had developed over time but these have been eradicated and it is now regarded as one of the best straight mile courses in the UK.
The turns are fairly sharp here but the long home straight means there are very few hard luck stories at Yarmouth. That makes it an ideal place to introduce well-bred maidens from the powerful Newmarket stables nearby.
Dining, Hospitality & Facilities
There are a several hospitality options at Yarmouth from stylish restaurant dining to private suites or summer marquees. The Trafalgar Restaurant is situated in the Lord Nelson Grandstand and offers first class cuisine in luxurious surroundings with stunning views of the track.
There are Flat Cap, Fascinator and Top Hat hospitality packages available in Yarmouth’s private suites and boxes. Each comes with a dedicated host, sumptuous buffet and access to all public areas. Afternoon Tea Private Box packages are available on selected race days. Exclusive Marquee Packages are also available on selected race days during the summer.
Yarmouth racecourse is one mile north of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. Great Yarmouth Railway Station is just one mile from the racecourse and is on mainline routes via Norwich.
Tickets
You can book your Yarmouth admission tickets online with discounts for bookings of six or more. You can book a special 3 day pass for the Eastern Festival in September as well as reserve your hospitality packages.
The Effect of the Draw
There is a draw bias in five furlong sprint races but it can change with the going. High numbers seem to have the edge on good or fast ground but this is reversed when the track rides soft. There is no discernible draw bias at any distance beyond five furlongs at Yarmouth.

The Effect of the Draw
The course used to struggle with off-shore winds messing up their attempts at watering but, since they changed to a new system, the problem has gone, and there no longer seems to be much in the draw.
