Horse races tend to start from Midday, with races on roughly every 10 minutes during peak times. On quieter days, there is still usually a race every 20-30 minutes, with racing going on until late in the evenings at all-weather floodlit racecourses.
A horse race day tends to start around 11:30am at the earliest and can go on until 9pm in the evening at all-weather floodlit racecourses. A typical racecard at one course will last roughly 3-4 hours.
The length of a race varies depending on various aspects. It depends on whether it’s a flat race, which tends to be run over shorter distances, or a National Hunt race, which can be run over much longer trips. The Grand National is the longest race in the UK, at four miles and two and a half furlongs.
