Won this last year (good to soft); refused to race on reappearance (his sole outing in cheekpieces); may well have won the Grade 1 King George at Kempton (3m, good) in December but for stumbling/unseating just after two out; ready Grade 2 win at Newbury (2m7f, heavy) in February; didn't run in last month's Gold Cup due to an unsatisfactory scope and there remains a question mark regarding the form of the stable, but he's a key player if at his best.

About Shishkin

Shishkin Career Form And Notable Achievements

Shishkin has won 13 of his 17 career races to date, including an impressive six Grade 1 victories. Having won three of his four races over hurdles (the only defeat came when falling on debut), he was sent chasing the following season and continued his excellent form. His Novice season over fences saw him win all five races, which included a 12-length victory in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival. The following season saw him win another Grade 1 in one of the best races of the year, as he saw off the Irish challenge of Energuemene in a thrilling renewal of the Clarence House Chase. After disappointing in his next two races, he returned to form in 2023 with two further Grade 1 wins, in the Ascot Chase and the Betway Bowl.
