Lingfield served up a productive evening on firming ground (GOOD — good to firm in places; watered; 8.5) with several convincing performances. Oh Yes You Do opened the card at 16:41 and asserted himself to score comfortably, while Rockafeller Skank (4/11) and Cape Fear (4/6) both produced authoritative wins in their respective races. George Wood and Callum Hutchinson enjoyed a productive night — Wood taking a brace aboard Rockafeller Skank and Rumble Ruby, and Hutchinson successful on Cape Fear and Little Miss Magic. Little Miss Magic closed the meeting with a confident finish, winning the 20:40 by a clear margin.

There were a number of non-runners and withdrawals on the day: Antiquarian, Harry Don’t Bite, Moonlit Cloud, Kitty Foyle and Comedian Leader were withdrawn as unsuitable for the ground; Pure Theory and Sir Patchy were declared out via self-certificates; Dios De La Guerra was withdrawn after breaking out of the stalls. Despite those absences, the meeting produced several straightforward winners and a couple of notable displays from short-priced favourites.

No races were abandoned. Overall, the card favoured well-handicapped and race-fit types, with short-priced favourites doing much of the heavy lifting on the evening.
