1 (6)
Dorset uniform
Form: 411-78 D
OR: 104
W: 9st 6lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Capped a productive 2yo campaign by winning the valuable Goffs Million at the Curragh and a Group 3 at Leopardstown, both on softish ground (unraced on firmer than good); no better than seventh this year, facing a stiff task in the French 2,000 Guineas on latest; penalised and needs a personal best.
Form: 15-156 D
OR: 108
W: 9st 6lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Chesham Stakes runner-up here in 2025; convincing winner of Leopardstown Group 3 (7f, good to yielding) on reappearance before racing freely in 2,000 Guineas and Irish 2,000 Guineas; has had more racing than most of these and has to carry a penalty but should be suited by this return to 7f.
Form: 1-2323 D
OR: 103
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Consistent gelding whose third to the high-class Talk Of New York in Sandown Listed race (1m, good) last time was just the latest in a string of creditable efforts; should be fine back at 7f but he's beginning to look exposed and the first-time visor (replacing cheekpieces) needs to give him a lift.
4 (15)
Ardisia uniform
Form: 7-7463
OR: 103
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Five wins in a stellar 2025 included the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy, but his form has plateaued this season; ran respectably in Listed race at Epsom on Oaks day but he'll need much more to figure here.
5 (16)
Avicenna uniform
Form: 11-20 D
OR: 105
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Progressed well in his first three outings, with 7f 2yo wins at Doncaster (good to firm/good) and a promising second in the Craven (raced freely, bit short of room), but he ran no sort of race in the 2,000 Guineas (last of 14; 14-1) seven weeks ago; still low-mileage and could bounce back.
6 (4)
Billecart uniform
Form: 4-150
OR: 95
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Looks ready for this return to 7f after racing freely in Listed race at Newcastle and 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket (66-1), but he has a mountain to climb on the figures and is difficult to recommend.
OUR TIP
Form: 14-271 D
OR: 107
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Disappointing when favourite at Meydan in February, but returned from wind surgery and a gelding operation with a much improved effort to win 17-runner handicap at Goodwood (7f, good) with stacks in hand; that looks solid form and a repeat would give him major claims for a stable that won this race in 2021 and 2022.
Form: 52-121 CD
OR: 103
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Tends to be delivered late; keeps getting better and showed his liking for this C&D when beating nine opponents with plenty in hand in handicap here six weeks ago; should continue on an upward curve and he's well worth his place in this higher grade.
9 (17)
Into The Sky uniform
Form: 12-4
OR: 107
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Second in the 6f Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes as a 2yo; shaped really well when fourth in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) on return, fading after disputing lead until over 1f out; that form has worked out notably well and this intermediate distance should suit him down to the ground; strong contender.
Form: 7121- D
OR: 110
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Developed into a useful 2yo, following a close second in the Group 2 Vintage at Goodwood (7f, good) by beating his two rivals in a Salisbury Listed race (1m, good to firm); has a lengthy absence to overcome, and this drop back in distance isn't an obvious plus judged on his pedigree, but he's in excellent hands and retains potential.
11 (7)
Neolithic uniform
Form: 71-313 D
OR: 107
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Has improved on his 2yo efforts this term, winning a conditions race at Gowran (7f, soft; unraced on firmer than good) in between thirds in Listed races at the Curragh; solid chance on the figures and he's Ryan Moore's pick; wears blinkers for the first time.
Form: 1-1 D
OR: 108
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Highly promising colt who cost 230,000gns as a yearling and came from last to first when beating five rivals in Listed event at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) on reappearance, maintaining his unbeaten record; high in the pecking order on ratings after just two outings and has lots of potential; could be anything.
Form: 16-258 D
OR: 99
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Sole win came in 7f maiden at Gowran last September; seemed to excel himself when eighth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas four weeks ago (50-1; wore tongue-strap) despite beating just one rival; one of the outsiders again.
Form: 124-2
OR: 108
W: 9st 0lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Lightly raced filly; made an encouraging return when beaten a neck in Group 3 Nell Gwyn at Newmarket (7f, good) in April; late withdrawal from Irish 1,000 Guineas on veterinary advice; remains open to improvement and one of the likelier candidates.
Form: 1-30
OR: 97
W: 9st 0lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
1-1 as 2yo; shaped well on return when third in Group 3 Fred Darling at Newbury (7f, good); however, she ran no sort of race in the 1,000 Guineas (66-1) and is on a retrieval mission, with plenty to find on the figures.
Form: 0130-6 BF
OR: 106
W: 9st 0lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Changed hands for £700,000 on Monday; won Group 2 Prix Robert Papin at Chantilly (6f, soft) last summer; wasn't disgraced when sixth of eight in the same grade there on reappearance, fading on first go at 1m (good ground); this return to 7f should help but others have stronger claims on form.
Form: 12-4
OR: 109
W: 9st 0lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Went down narrowly in Group 2 Rockfel at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) on second 2yo start and ran at least as well when fourth in the 1,000 Guineas there (1m, good to firm) on reappearance; should cope with today's drop back in distance and it's unlikely she's reached her ceiling just yet; leading contender for last year's winning stable.

Betting Forecast

16/1 Dorset, 11/1 Thesecretadversary, 25/1 Andab, 66/1 Ardisia, 11/1 Avicenna, 80/1 Billecart, 11/1 Catullus, 14/1 Colori Forever, 11/2 Into The Sky, 16/1 Morris Dancer, 12/1 Neolithic, 2/1 Saber Strike, 66/1 Take Charge Star, 16/1 America Queen, 50/1 Domina Ignis, 28/1 Green Sense, 7/1 The Prettiest Star

Verdict

If there’s a superstar in the line-up it’s probably Saber Strike, who boasts an unbeaten record and brings stacks of potential. The William Haggas-trained colt commands major respect but it was hard not to be impressed by last month’s wide-margin handicap winner CATULLUS, and he can enhance Charlie Appleby’s fine recent record in the Jersey. Last year’s winning trainer Ed Walker has a persuasive candidate in The Prettiest Star, while Into The Sky is another who should be suited by dropping back in distance. Neolithic, Avicenna, Colori Forever and America Queen are others with possibilities.[Richard O’Brien]
