Has improved on his 2yo efforts this term, winning a conditions race at Gowran (7f, soft; unraced on firmer than good) in between thirds in Listed races at the Curragh; solid chance on the figures and he's Ryan Moore's pick; wears blinkers for the first time.

T: Noriyuki Hori

Two-time Japanese Grade 1 winner who was a clear second in this race last year (good to firm); he's taking the same route as last season, again arriving after finishing second to the Hong Kong phenomenon Ka Ying Rising in the Group 1 Chairman's Sprint Prize at Sha Tin in April; key player.

T: A P O’Brien

Dual Group 1 winner who has a record of 6-9 overall and had a mitigating factor (set an unsuitably steady pace) in his 2025 King George defeat in sole C&D attempt; played a distant second fiddle last time when bidding for a Coronation Cup double at Epsom but nothing behind the winner showed their form in the rain-soaked conditions; the peak form he showed when beating Calandagan 12 months earlier gives him a big chance in this field.

Chased home Star Prospect at the Curragh (soft) in April but made odds-on backers sweat when just coming out the right side of a three-horse photo at Naas (also 5f, good) three weeks later; up to 6f when good second to Great Barrier Reef in Curragh Group 3 last time and that form looks all the better after his conqueror won the Coventry on Tuesday; drop back to this stiff 5f is unlikely to be an issue and he commands great respect from a stable that's won this four times, including last year.

Won a maiden at Leicester (7f, good to firm) on his second run as a 2yo; creditable efforts in Listed/Group 3 events afterwards (5f-7f); only had to match that form to win a 6f conditions event at Wolverhampton on his return in April and he was put in his place in Listed race at Newbury (6f, good) five weeks ago; Ryan Moore booked but this looks a tough mark and the return to 5f isn't enough to tempt.
