Won Group 2 over a mile on Irish Champions Weekend in September before disappointing in heavy-ground Group 1 at Doncaster; beaten less than a length from a bad draw in the French 2,000 Guineas but couldn't sustain his effort when fading to midfield in the Prix du Jockey Club; well fancied for Royal Ascot Group 2 over 1m4f but weakened tamely in the straight; bringing him back in trip looks an obvious move and, despite 5lb penalty, should go close at this level if anywhere near his best.

Unplaced in Group 1 events last three starts but they include an excellent fourth from a wide draw in the French 2,000 Guineas (1m, soft); stoutly bred and seemed likely to relish the step up to 10.5f in the French Derby (heavy) next time, but could finish only eighth of 14; arguably has a bit to prove after that but he's now down in grade and the return to a forecast sound surface may spark a personal best (2-2 on good ground last year); interesting.

Easy win on debut at the Curragh (7f, good) in August and made it 2-2 in the Group 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown (1m, good) last month; further improvement is needed today but this close relation to classy stablemates Broome and Point Lonsdale could be on a path to a stellar career for a trainer who has won this 11 times, including four of the last six.
