Plenty of ability in his three bumpers, winning one at Fakenham; hooded last three outings; favourite for novice hurdle at Chepstow (2m, again soft) one month ago when his never-nearer third of 12 attracted the attention of the stewards but he made things hard by persistently hanging left; settling and hanging have therefore both been issues but he does look capable of better.

Joined Paul Nicholls after making the frame in valuable bumper at 2023 Punchestown festival and came good for this stable at second attempt, in soft-ground Fakenham bumper in February; his tendency to race too freely remains a worry but he's a leading contender on this hurding debut; had wind op during summer break.

Evidently talented as he was all over the shop when pushing Union Avenue close on soft ground at Aintree on Boxing Day and then went one better at Fakenham despite racing freely and finding trouble in running; however, that bare form is a world away from the required standard here.

Fourth of 16 in a strong Irish bumper at Punchestown last April; fitted for a hood on British debut at Aintree (soft) and, despite showing some quirks (raced freely and hung left late on), he ran to a smart level in pushing a well-regarded horse all the way; hard to beat unless one of the newcomers is good.
