Made favourite but lacked experience when tackling the 5f handicap here last June; better form when winning at Haydock (6f, good to soft) last September and, after a low-key reappearance at Newmarket, he impressed when winning at Carlisle (6f, good to firm; first-time cheekpieces) recently; 1lb well in under a penalty; looks a smart prospect.

Lightly raced 4yo with something of an all-or-nothing profile; put everything together when bolting up at Haydock (6f, good to soft) last autumn; might have needed the run when only ninth of 13 at Newmarket on reappearance; leading claims if building on that and cheekpieces may give him a lift.

Gelded prior to his autumn starts, winning at Haydock (6f) then perhaps hindered by heavy ground at Doncaster; lightly raced, in excellent hands and may still have further progress in him; remains of interest.

Two promising runs as a 2yo and bolted up, albeit in a weak race, on his Salisbury reappearance (6f, good to firm); fluffed his lines at Royal Ascot and Newmarket's July meeting and was gelded in the summer; took advantage of a hefty drop in the weights and a drop in class when comfortably seeing off 11 rivals at Haydock six weeks ago (6f, good to soft); doubt the 6lb rise will prove beyond him in time but today's ground is a query (dam appeared to handle soft); James Doyle rides in preference to Fine Interview which looks significant too.
