Form & Verdict

Struggled in Grade 1 novice hurdles at the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals last spring; however, he'd previously run away with a C&D novice (soft) on Boxing Day and rallied strongly when a close third at Doncaster (favourite, ridden by 5lb claimer) four weeks ago on handicap/seasonal debut; has the same mark and should build on that run, so looks set to go very well.

Upwardly mobile type with 5-9 strike-rate under rules; built on reappearance run when winning six-runner race at Kempton (2m, good to soft) five weeks ago; probably at least as effective over this distance; open to further improvement but he'll need it off 3lb higher and in a much stronger race.

Form & Verdict

Best known at Wetherby, where he's 5-14, but he won a novice at this track and his third in this race in 2021 was among his best form; has run poorly on three of his last four starts (over two years without a win) and is now a 10yo but he's had wind surgery since latest and is way down the weights.

Usually runs well at Wetherby and that was again the case 19 days ago on his return from 76 days off; beaten 12l though and he remains below his best form.

Form & Verdict

Clearcut win at Sandown (2m, soft; 4lb higher today) in November; failed to shine on heavy there (again favourite) four weeks later but that can probably be forgiven and Flat form suggests he may still have more to offer.

Gained clearcut success at Sandown (2m, soft) in November and ran just as well when third of six to Rare Edition at Kempton (2m, good to soft) last month; however, he's 2lb out of the handicap in this more competitive race and he's moving into unknown territory trip-wise.

Form & Verdict

Although not as good as he was on Flat in 2020 or 2021, still pretty useful when winning at Sligo (1m2f) last May; out of form in his five starts afterwards, two of which were back over hurdles, and he left Gordon Elliott for £4,500 in November; probably best watched on first run since.

Left Gordon Elliott after a disappointing Flat run in the autumn; ran okay to be fourth of six back over hurdles on stable debut at Kempton (2m, good to soft) and he contested a Class 2 last time at Doncaster; seems to be okay on heavy and he could have some say.

Left Gordon Elliott after a disappointing Flat run in the autumn but was very respectable fourth of six at Kempton (2m, good to soft) when back over hurdles for new stable a fortnight ago; now needs to build on that performance.

Form & Verdict

Maiden hurdle in April 2022 for Gordon Elliott is his only win from 22 races; he wasn't at his best in the second half of last year but never-nearer fourth of 14 at Ascot (1m7f) on stable debut three weeks ago was his best show over hurdles for a long time; 125-1 that day but now looks interesting.

Sole win in 24 races under rules was in a maiden hurdle in April 2022 for Gordon Elliott; goes well on soft ground (runner-up on heavy on Flat) and this season's first two starts for new yard were his best efforts for a while; second of eight in a military race over C&D latest, behind a runaway winner but this 6yo is still one to consider.

Sole win in 23 rules races was in a maiden hurdle in April 2022 for Gordon Elliott; goes well on soft ground and, after running his best race for a while at Ascot (1m7f, good to soft), he found everything happening too fast at Kempton behind the smart Rare Edition; can do better this time.

Form & Verdict

Acts on soft; solid record (over 2m) this term, making all twice at Kelso then good front-running third of 17 at Cheltenham in his second handicap; still has low mileage; up a further 5lb but should have more to offer.

Twice made all at Kelso (good/soft) before a front-running third of 17 at Cheltenham (second handicap); didn't jump well enough to remain competitive when last of six at Kempton three weeks ago and he's better than that.
