Weather: Light rain

Form: 351211

W: 9st 8lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Front-runner with 3-6 strike-rate for new stable this year, the latest win gained in four-runner contest at Wolverhampton (9.4f) last month; enjoyed the run of the race that day and has gone up another 6lb but is evidently in excellent nick.

Form: 58-124 C
OR: 72
W: 9st 7lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Won in good style here (1m) on seasonal/handicap debut in April and made the frame on both starts since, more recently when upped to 1m2f at Salisbury 12 days ago; returns to this track with first-time blinkers fitted; may still have more improvement to come.
Form: 433-
OR: 72
W: 9st 7lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Made the frame on all three 2yo starts, most notably when third of 12 in Leicester maiden (7f, good to soft) in September; makes handicap/AW debut after 255-day absence but has plenty of scope for improvement in middle-distance handicaps this year.
Form: 755-10 D
OR: 71
W: 9st 6lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Needs to bounce back quickly from very disappointing turf debut at Haydock a fortnight ago but came from off the pace for emphatic win at Newcastle (1m2f) on seasonal/handicap debut in early May, and has obvious claims if judged on that performance.

Booziebrunch uniform
Form: 20-244
OR: 71
W: 9st 6lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Three good runs over 1m this year, the latest in refitted blinkers at Kempton four weeks ago, but probably needs this longer trip to unlock some improvement.
Form: 433320
OR: 69
W: 9st 4lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Well down the field after racing too freely on turf last month but was in good form beforehand, most notably when close second at Southwell (1m3f; first-time cheekpieces) two runs ago; in the mix if back on song.

Betting Forecast

4/1 Lexington Express, 2/1 Raspoutine, 5/1 Kaori, 5/1 Central Command, 6/1 Booziebrunch, 8/1 Extraterrestrial

Verdict

Lexington Express has done well for his new stable this year but was allowed to dictate at a steady tempo at Wolverhampton last time and may not have things all his own way here. RASPOUTINE won with considerable authority over 1m here on his seasonal/handicap debut in April, is still unexposed over this trip and gets the vote in the hope he responds well to the new blinkers. Handicap debutante Kaori is feared most, while Central Command and Extraterrestrial are much better than they showed when last in action.[Chris Wilson]
