Form: 7221-8 D
OR: 92
W: 9st 12lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Front-runner; seems to handle most ground but her 5f maiden win at Cork (good to firm) last July was easily bettered by her AW achievements later; dropped right out on her return in a Listed race at Cork (extended 5f, soft) last month and has work to do off this mark back in a handicap.
Form: 210-70 D
OR: 88
W: 9st 8lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Has won on good but the ground was soft for his best 2yo performance, when winning Listed 5f race at Ayr last September; has done much less well in three runs since, including back in a handicap at York in May; needs the first-time tongue-tie to wave a magic wand.
Form: 3-1708 D
OR: 87
W: 9st 7lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
All three wins at 5f, on soft, good to soft and the AW; has had some excuses since the latest of them in March and the return to a 5f handicap looks in her best interests after running in Listed races either side of a modest 6f run at Chester; likely to need extra for this, even so.

Form: 15-041 D
OR: 83
W: 9st 3lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
All turf races on good or quicker but dam's best form was on soft; sole 2yo win was over 7f on the AW; ran well for a long way over 6f at Ascot on second run back and proved thoroughly at home over the new 5f trip at Goodwood (good; first-time cheekpieces) since, racing well within himself and coming clear for an impressive win; up 6lb but has more to come.
Form: 114 D
OR: 82
W: 9st 2lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
All three runs in these aids; made all for two 5f wins on Southwell AW before giving it a good shot on turf debut in a competitive York handicap (5f, good) in May, when just behind Naana's Shadow; open to improvement but lack of experience raises a question on this tricky track.
Form: 21-613 D
OR: 78
W: 8st 12lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
AW winner as 2yo who has done well for new yard this year, making all from the rail draw at Catterick, then adopting the same tactics at York (5f, good) when losing her lead late on but still finishing a solid third of 17 (just ahead of Shes Got A Brother); in the thick of it.
Form: 347334
OR: 78
W: 8st 12lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Sole success in 6f novice on Kempton AW as 2yo; has had plenty of chances in handicaps, albeit his persevering fourth to Wedonttelllies at Goodwood (5f, good) 13 days ago, when switched across the track, puts him on the scene with the expected strong pace likely to suit; cheekpieces refitted.
Form: -36391 D
OR: 78
W: 8st 12lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Respectable rather than progressive on AW since a Wolverhampton win in December but he found soft turf to his liking when coming clear of four rivals at Yarmouth (5f) last month; needs more off 7lb higher in this better race but further rain would help him more than some.
Form: 119875 D
OR: 78
W: 8st 12lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Three 5f wins on AW for previous yards, most recently in February, but treading water on sand since; ran well for a long way at Chester (5f, good) in May for new trainer but has more on his plate in this company.

Riley Rocks uniform
Form: 4-116 BF
OR: 77
W: 8st 11lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Both wins over 6f (on AW) but didn't seem inconvenienced by the return to 5f, despite failing to get a clear passage, at Goodwood recently, in the race won by Wedonttelllies; capable of better but he's come from off the pace in three of his four starts which will complicate things in this field.

Hanney Girl uniform
Form: 56-753 D
OR: 77
W: 8st 11lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Speedy filly who can lead; two 5f wins on good to firm as 2yo but has run up to form on good to soft; creditable show when fifth of 17 at York last month but will do well to win this off her current mark.

Proof uniform
Form: 43-198 D
OR: 77
W: 8st 11lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Heavy-ground winner as 2yo; started the year with a 5f Southwell AW win but the style of that success, when stamina finally came into play after being niggled along from some way out, suggests others will have brighter early speed on the return to 5f; tongue-tie added.

Call Margot uniform
Form: 7-5217 D
OR: 76
W: 8st 10lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Did well to overcome trouble in running on Southwell AW (5f) in April but she wasn't in such good form in her first turf handicap, at York (5f, good) three weeks ago; has something to prove after that.
Form: 671131 D
OR: 76
W: 8st 10lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Two AW wins at 5f and 6f this spring; met her match in Call Margot at Southwell (5f, AW) in April but she showed her fighting spirit when refusing to give up her lead back on turf at Beverley (5f, good to soft) since; much bigger question here, up 4lb in a better race on a very different track.
Form: 58-013 D
OR: 73
W: 8st 7lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Looked ahead of his mark when returned to 5f at Windsor (good to firm) in May, doing well to overcome a blocked passage, and a subsequent third behind Wedonttelllies at Goodwood (5f, good) after a slow start was also useful form; has possibilities if he doesn't give himself too much to do.

Artista uniform
Form: -75435 D
OR: 71
W: 8st 5lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Two 5f wins (good to firm and AW) last summer but has been weighted to her best this year and she was well beaten in a Beverley seller (first-time cheekpieces, now discarded) last month; up against it.

Verdict

The effect of the draw has been fluid in this race and the only certainty is that they will be tearing along from the word go. The ability to handle a downhill track can only be helpful and although the Goodwood race won by WEDONTTELLLIES featured the usual quota of hard-luck stories, the winner himself rose above some troubles of his own to run out a fluent winner. Perhaps the sixth Riley Rocks can be best of the remainder although the third Coyy and fourth One And Gone are not dismissed. There was little between Naana’s Shadow, Shes Got A Brother and Hanney Girl at York recently and they, too, have good runs in them.[Emily Weber]
