Won at Ludlow (2m, good to soft) in December on second chase start; he hasn't kicked on from that on his two outings since but it was still a respectable effort behind a well-handicapped winner at Leicester (2m, heavy) last time and he could have a big part to play today.

0-9 over hurdles but he made it second time lucky over fences when scoring at Ludlow (2m, good to soft; 12-1) in December; should have more to offer in this sphere but he was disappointing at Doncaster 19 days ago and needs to bounce back after that.

Opened his account in Ludlow contest (2m, good to soft; second chase attempt) most recently; may well build on that success and improve further over fences; upped in class but receives plenty of weight all round; interesting contender.

Much better than a typical nine-race maiden hurdler as he often ran well behind smart opposition, and he did go off favourite for the Fred Winter at Cheltenham two seasons back; below best when fourth in a novice hurdle on return and his jumping lacked conviction on chase debut at Warwick (2m4f, good; beaten 33l); ability is respected but some reservations for now.

0-9 over hurdles, despite showing some very useful form as a juvenile in 2023-24; not easy to weigh up at present but returned from latest spell in France with respectable fourth in 15-runner Worcester novice (2m, good) last month and that run may have teed him up for this chasing debut.
