Form: 32

W: 9st 7lb

Age: 3 yo Colt

Form

Both runs were on Polytrack early this year, much improved when a battling second of nine in 1m4f novice at Kempton; big shout if that form is transferred and he could improve again.

Form: 43-33

OR: 76

W: 9st 7lb

Age: 3 yo Colt

Form

Fourth on heavy ground in Ireland on debut; better form when third on Tapeta in all three starts for new yard, the latest in his first handicap; upped today from 1m3f to 1m4f; similar form to most of these and needs to find extra for the win.

W: 9st 7lb

Age: 3 yo Colt

Form

Showed promise on soft on debut but best form when finishing well for third on the drop back to 7f at Musselburgh (good to firm) last August; fair efforts on both attempts at 1m and looks bred to stay at least 1m2f; off since September (has been gelded) and needs some improvement to win this.

Form: 63-35

OR: 73

W: 9st 7lb

Age: 3 yo Colt

Form

Fair form on all four starts, the pick probably in a soft-ground race as 2yo and over 1m4f on Wolverhampton AW on the first of two runs this February; last of five in handicap latest, when Flickering Halo was third; needs to build on those best efforts if he's to better minor honours.

Tryfan

Form: 3-

OR:

W: 9st 7lb

Age: 3 yo Colt

Form

Brother to fair 1m4f AW winner Haykal among the dam's four winners from four previous foals; 10-1 and very slowly away in novice at Newcastle (1m2f, AW) in September on debut but showed plenty of ability and clear promise to be third of five; that puts him into serious calculations and he should be open to plenty of improvement.

Form: 5-

OR:

W: 9st 2lb

Age: 3 yo Filly

Form

11-1, seemed too green to do herself justice when 9l fifth of ten from the back in maiden at Chelmsford (7f, AW) in November; should improve but she's accomplished clearly the least in this field.

Betting Forecast

6/4 Clockwatcher, 11/2 Flickering Halo, 6/1 Monsieur Melee, 7/2 Torrent, 4/1 Tryfan, 25/1 Kingmont

Verdict

There is something to prove with the switch from AW but CLOCKWATCHER brings the best form thanks to his second at Kempton and that was a promising effort. While four of the other five have similar form to each other, it’s Tryfan who is feared most given that he has had just the one run and shaped well given that such a slow start that day denied him the chance to play a serious part.[Richard Austen]
