Reliable sort elsewhere (unraced here, despite his stable) with best efforts at about 2m, though he was also sixth in last season's 2m2f Cesarewitch; never better than when winning at Ripon 13 days ago, for which 3lb penalty takes him to a career-high mark but 7lb claimer is recruited and they may well be on the premises. |

Won twice for Tom Dascombe last season, including a three-runner renewal of this race; had the benefit of a previous run on that occasion and this perhaps not the time to catch him, especially off his career-high mark. |

9st 10lb |
Very reliable for Tom Dascombe but it's questionable whether first time out is the best time to catch him and, following his Ascot win last October, he's now on a career-high mark. |

Comes here in good form after a 4l win over 2m at Ascot last week but has been soundly beaten in both runs beyond that trip, in this race last year and behind Calling The Wind at Goodwood in July. |

9st 11lb |
His only win in the last two seasons was a three-runner race (this April) but he's a familiar sight running creditably in good staying handicaps on varied ground; beaten a neck in his only start at Ascot; possibly better nowadays at 2m than 1m6f and, with a claiming rider recruited for first time in ages, he has to be considered very seriously each-way. |
