Form: 1-2153 D
OR: 82
W: 9st 11lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Two wins from her four starts for Karl Burke and she was a close third of 13 on stable debut at Doncaster (7f, good to firm; behind two of these) three weeks ago, having led; in the mix if confirming that promise.

Sierra Sands uniform
Form: 1-4031 CD
OR: 82
W: 9st 11lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
7f 2yo winner who kept on well to win in a small field here (6f, good to firm) a fortnight ago; this is more competitive but he did it cosily under Ryan Moore, who remains on board, and the return to 7f may be a plus.
Form: 221-4
OR: 81
W: 9st 10lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Beaten 4l by Sierra Sands when fourth of five at 100-30 on his handicap and seasonal debut here (6f, good to firm) a fortnight ago; however, he may have needed that run and this well-bred sort, who won a 6f AW novice last December, retains potential for his top trainer; could go well.
Form: 1352
OR: 80
W: 9st 9lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
All four starts at Doncaster; 80-1 win on debut in April (6f, good to firm) and respectable efforts on next two starts before close second to Toastmaster last month in his first handicap (7f, good to firm); a possible.
Form: 21-403 D
OR: 80
W: 9st 9lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
7f AW maiden winner who returned to form when third at Carlisle (1m, good to firm) recently; the drop back to 7f could help and he has a chance.
Form: 92-171
OR: 78
W: 9st 7lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Off the mark at the sixth attempt at Wolverhampton (6f, AW) in February and she returned to form with a gutsy handicap win at Windsor (6f, good to firm) last month, keeping on well; pulled hard and weakened over 7f two starts ago but she might have potential at this trip if she settles.
Form: 235331 D
OR: 75
W: 9st 4lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Changed stables this spring and he was a close third on his first two runs for the yard (7f, good/good to firm) before a deserved win at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) last month, getting off the mark at the tenth attempt with Flight Control and Three Non Blondes close up; respected up just 2lb.

Kimbara uniform
Form: 44623 BF
OR: 73
W: 9st 2lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Improved form when second to Lion Of Mali on handicap debut at Sandown (7f, good) last month and again went close when third at Yarmouth (7f, good to firm) a fortnight ago; a first win is unlikely to be far away; contender.
OUR TIP
Form: 112151 D
OR: 72
W: 9st 1lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Made it 3-4 for the year when winning at Leicester (7f, good to firm) in April and bounced back from lesser run on soft ground with another win at Sandown last month (7f, good; Kimbara second); had just half a length to spare but he had to wait for a clear run and all of his wins have been by narrow margins; could still be ahead of the handicapper up 3lb for last time.
Form: 933136
OR: 66
W: 8st 9lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Won at Nottingham (8.3f, good) in May before respectable third of seven at Lingfield (1m1f, soft); hampered at the start when she flopped here (1m, good to firm) a fortnight and she's much better than that, but she needs to bounce back with a career best if she's to come out on top.
Form: 7-3565
OR: 59
W: 8st 4lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
It's possible that 7f on fast ground will represent his ideal conditions, and he's not had those circumstances across his four handicap starts this season; goes back up in trip today but from 2lb out of the handicap and others arrive with more pressing claims.

Betting Forecast

9/1 Three Non Blondes, 6/1 Sierra Sands, 7/1 Angel Gabriel, 8/1 Flight Control, 8/1 Aqua Bear, 15/2 Calling A Star, 15/2 Toastmaster, 8/1 Kimbara, 9/2 Lion Of Mali, 14/1 Daretobedifferent, 16/1 Ice Cube

Verdict

The prolific LION OF MALI has climbed the weights only slowly, with all four wins this year coming by narrow margins, and there can be optimism that he still has more left in the tank. Sierra Sands did it cosily under Ryan Moore here a fortnight ago and may be the chief threat ahead of the unexposed Beckett contender Angel Gabriel. Toastmaster, Flight Control and Three Non Blondes fought out a tight finish at Doncaster last time, while Kimbara also arrives in good heart.[Ben Hutton]
