Lightly raced 4yo who was notably strong in the market on his recent return from a gelding operation at Wolverhampton (1m4f) and he duly won comfortably; can take a keen hold but it didn't hold him back at Dunstall Park and an 8lb rise shouldn't prevent him having a big say.

Inclined to pull hard last year and there's still potential in him if he learns to settle; perhaps being gelded over the winter will have done the trick and he's interesting against a field of exposed handicappers.

Odds-on winner last season; back on track on last two starts when third in both a novice at Chelmsford (1m2f, AW) in July and on handicap debut at Ascot (1m4f); just four starts overall (both on turf were on good to soft) and he lost out only close home last time, so could have more to give and needs considering seriously.

J: Luke Morris

Odds-on winner last season; yard was quiet and he raced freely when disappointing on reappearance at Listed level and he got back on track after a break when third in a 1m2f novice at Chelmsford five weeks ago; wandered around a bit under pressure in the latter but inexperience could still have been a factor; an entry in the Great Voltigeur would suggest he's still well regarded and has to be of interest from an opening mark in the 80s on this first attempt at 1m4f.
