Should be well handicapped and in the new cheekpieces (regularly wears tongue-tie) he gave it a bold go from the front at Fontwell (3m2f, heavy); that was better and likely contender if taking to the new blinkers.

Had wind surgery last July but made a laboured return in the Welsh National and his Warwick run 17 days ago was also lacklustre, even considering the 3m trip; wore cheekpieces on last three starts last term, then visor/blinkers this season; 5lb claimer is recruited; has big questions to answer regarding current form but this test would suit if he's on his game, as he showed when second in it off the same mark last year.

Won last season on first four hurdle starts (1m7f-2m4f, soft/good to soft) before creditable seventh at the Cheltenham Festival; hasn't really shone over fences this term but there have been some fair performances and she may be suited by today's return to hurdling; a possible.

Having a good season over hurdles with two wins in May (2m3f/2m4f, good/good to soft) and another in a mares' novice handicap in November (2m3f, good); career-best form last time when runner-up in a mares' novice at Lingfield (2m, soft; awarded the race on the day but lost it on appeal); should go well again.
