Runner-up twice in novices and made a positive start to his handicap career when 7l fourth of 14 over 1m4f at York (good) four weeks ago; this is less competitive but didn't obviously shape at York as if he's crying out for this 2f longer trip.

Better effort switched to handicaps this year when second of five over 1m4f at Lingfield (AW) 11 days ago, worn down only towards the finish; won't need to pull out much more for new headgear (blinkers for cheekpieces) and a longer trip.

Left his first three handicap efforts behind when making all with ease over 1m4f at Catterick (good to firm) 13 days ago, proving well suited by the significant step up in trip; an extra 2f ought to be within range on that evidence, although this is a much stiffer track.
