Form: 121130
OR: 81
W: 9st 10lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
A four-time AW winner (from 5f to 7f) this year and ran really well when third over C&D in May. Proved too free when well held in big-field Goodwood handicap (7f) last time and very much the sort to bounce back returned here.
Form: 0610-3
OR: 79
W: 9st 8lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
A fair 7f winner at 2yrs; resumed from eight months off with a very good third of nine on his handicap debut at Nottingham (1m) 24 days ago, leading long way; this Ghaiyyath colt must enter calculations.
Form: 4-2312 BF
OR: 78
W: 9st 7lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
On the up since joining current yard, landing 7f Lingfield maiden in May before posting an excellent second of six in 7.5f handicap there 13 days ago; up 3lb but he's a likely player again.
Form: 222
OR: 77
W: 9st 6lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
Son of Showcasing who has finished runner-up on all his three starts this spring, advancing his form in 1m Newcastle maiden in April; back from a break for his handicap debut now and needs considering.

Dartrey uniform
Form: -11140
OR: 77
W: 9st 6lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Rattled off a Southwell hat-trick (6f) in January but he failed to beat a rival in 1m Windsor handicap last month on his return from a four-month absence; he needs to bounce back.

Form: 53-3
OR: 75
W: 9st 4lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Son of Lope De Vega who has shaped with promise on all his three runs, proving more settled (gelded over winter) on his recent return when third of ten in 1m maiden at Redcar; has more to offer now stepping into handicap company in a refitted hood; interesting.
Form: 22-525 BF
OR: 72
W: 9st 1lb
Age: 3 yo Filly
Yet to score but she was runner-up for the third time at Windsor (1m) in May and then suffered a very poor run when beaten just over 2l into fifth in 1m Newmarket handicap four weeks ago; merits serious consideration despite 2lb weights rise.
Form: 723-30 C
OR: 69
W: 8st 12lb
Age: 3 yo Colt
Course scorer at 2yrs; returned with a good third at Beverley (7.5f) in April but beat only one in 20-runner handicap at York (7f) 20 days ago; needs to get back on track.
9 (1)
Jackabi uniform
Form: 7224-0
OR: 67
W: 8st 10lb
Age: 3 yo Gelding
A fair 7f juvenile maiden but he went too freely in a refitted hood when only 12th in 7f Salisbury handicap on his recent reappearance; tongue tie is added now.

Betting Forecast

100/30 Cool Molly, 11/1 Runswick, 7/2 Vidmiyr, 6/1 Showcasing Star, 14/1 Dartrey, 13/2 Norman Invasion, 3/1 Crazee Icon, 25/1 Ubetterseethis, 33/1 Jackabi

Verdict

A case can be made for a few of these but the vote goes to Ed Walker’s NORMAN INVASION, who shaped well when third at Redcar on his return and appeals as a likely improver now going into handicap company. Both Crazee Icon (second choice) and Vidmiyr bring very solid credentials, while Runswick and Cool Molly also need factoring into this intriguing handicap.[Peter Entwistle]
