Made all, winning unchallenged in a Catterick claimer (2m, good) in March, changing hands for £12,000; failed to beat a rival on the Flat at Southwell (1m3f) on first start for this trainer the following month, and pulled up on chase debut next time; returning to hurdles is a sensible move.

C&D winner (evens favourite) in March and followed up at Ffos Las (2m, good) in April; played second fiddle to stablemate Castle Ivers at Perth (2m; 7-4 favourite; from 3lb lower) latest, but there was still plenty of merit to that; is now rated 19lb higher than when the winning spell commenced.

Age: 9 yo Mare
5-13 over hurdles, including back-to-back wins for Fern O'Brien at Ludlow and Huntingdon (both 2m) last October/November; fresh and keen on recent comeback run at Warwick (2m, good; sixth of seven, beaten nearly 15l); this Class 4 looks a better fit, assuming the rain stays away.
Form: 3225-4 D
OR: 107
W: 11st 1lb
Age: 8 yo Mare
No win since January 2024; consistent (43322) last autumn/winter; tried to make all at Kelso (2m, good) 19 days ago but faded from the second-last, finishing over 15l fourth to the subsequent Perth winner Scots Poet; 3lb lower, with headgear added.

Betting Forecast

8/1 Pigeon House, Evs Trust House, 11/4 Kingston Sunflower, 7/2 Ip Up

Verdict

Add 174yds. Kingston Sunflower is expected to be better for her Warwick comeback run, and this Class 4 contest is easier on paper. However, she might have her work cut out with TRUST HOUSE in opposition. Olly Murphy’s 6yo couldn’t master stablemate Castle Ivers at Perth last month but that still represented a career-best on the figures, and he should appreciate the forecast showers. [Mark Rowntree]
