Chasing didn't go to plan last season (four attempts) and he was easily reeled in after making the running on return to hurdling in March but a return to very patient tactics paid dividends at Bangor (2m, good) last month, where he cut through the field to cause a 33-1 surprise; his tendency to race too freely remains a concern but a recent 7lb rise ought to be manageable.

Lacked fluency and was ultimately well beaten over C&D (good) on chasing debut a fortnight ago, after a layoff, but significant positives can still be drawn from that performance and he ought to cope better than some of these if the ground softens; can be dangerous if in a better rhythm today.

Has shown little so far; steps up in trip on handicap debut; major yard; worth a market check.

Last season's light campaign over hurdles did not go well (tried in cheekpieces latterly) but he shouldn't mind getting back on drier ground and is too well handicapped to dismiss on chasing debut.
