On a good mark on his 2023 best and he's almost certainly in better form than recent figures would indicate; midfield finish in this race 12 months ago is misleading as he spent the final 3f on the bridle but with nowhere to go; would have been a big player on quicker ground but he's usually kept away from softer than good.

Below best on AW this year but not beaten far last time (March) and he's dropped to a mark 3lb lower than when beaten just a neck here last August (5.4f, good to firm); ran well on good to soft last year (unraced on soft); could play a leading role if back on song.

He hasn't found his best form on the AW this winter but he's now 1lb lower than when hugely impressive at Newcastle last summer (5f); best known for his exploits over 5f though and this trip, even around here, might leave him vulnerable for win purposes.

Only 1lb higher than for his impressive victory at Newcastle in August; not in quite such rude form this winter but there have been excuses (caught wide early at Lingfield last time); likely to make a bold bid and has won over C&D but possible he's better suited to a straight track.

Talented performer who sauntered to victory in a good sprint at Newcastle last summer; only 3lb higher this afternoon and he's almost certainly in better form than his recent figures suggest; should find this being run to suit and he's one to consider.
