Mr Wagyu is a chestnut gelding who was bred in Ireland by Danny O’Sullivan. He was sired by Choisir out of the Haatef mare Lake Louise. Trained by John Quinn and owned by The New Century Partnership, his current earnings are over £248,000.

Mr Wagyu Career Form And Notable Achievements

Mr Wagyu has won 15 of his 72 career races to date, including an impressive six Grade 1 victories. Having made his debut in 2017, it wasn’t until 2021 where he started winning some of the bigger races. The first of those being the Stewards’ Sprint Handicap at Goodwood, where he ran out a cosy 2¾ length winner. The following year saw him win the JRA Tokyo Trophy Handicap at Epsom and the Scurry Handicap at the Curragh, with the latter being his biggest win of his career to date, taking home €59,000 to his winning connections.
